On the ASICS website, you can search by pronation, but I didn't see this style of ASICS shoe listed as being good for overpronation. Here are some of the ASICS shoe styles that were recommended for overpronation: GT- GT-2000 5 and 6; 2000 5 and 6; 2000 5 and 6; 2000 5 GEL-1000 5 and 6, GEL-1000 5 and 6, GEL-1000 5 and 6 Kayano 23, 24, and 25, as well as Metarun, Dynamis, and Roadhawk FF are all available. I wouldn't put them on for cross-country racing practice. There isn't as much cushion to cushion the impact of running on the foot. It's not as comfy as my previous two pairs of Asics.

I purchased these shoes after hearing positive feedback from people who run on a regular basis. I started running more, and my old, worn-out sneakers were causing me pain. These shoes are so comfortable that I wear them to work and school on a regular basis (and I've never worn sneakers for anything other than exercise). My feet are flat and narrow, and I wear a size 11 shoe. I'm 280 pounds and have had a fractured cuboid bone within the last year, so I ordered a size 12 in case of swelling and they fit perfectly. My feet never got sore even after walking 35 miles in four days in these shoes because they provided all the support and cushion I needed. I would recommend socks with a little extra fabric behind the heel to keep the sock from slipping down into the shoe, as I did notice my regular socks slipping down and the shoe rubbing the back of my ankles a little, but not enough to bother me.
