Edit. . . br>br>Emma from SAMSOX emailed me and explained how the socks are made, as well as the error in not including the word "merino" on the sock packaging. She went over the size of the wool used, as well as what is and isn't considered "merino wool. " The explanation is satisfactory to me. Samsox has changed their packaging to match the advertising as a result of my interaction with the purchase. br>br>The socks are extremely durable, and the price is extremely reasonable. Highly recommendedbr>br>I just got these and haven't put them on yet to test them. Are you perplexed as to why the packaging on Amazon does not match the product description? The Amazon description says they're made of "merino wool," but the packaging only says "wool. " In fact, the word "merino" isn't mentioned on the packaging at all, despite the fact that it's mentioned here several times. The manufacturer will need to clarify this. br>br>If/when the manufacturer responds, I'll update the rating.
The claims drew me in, so I bought them. cushioning that stays in place above the shoe's heel - as well as the positive feedback They aren't doing any serious work for me, so they aren't working for me. "Cushioning" is a term that I've never heard of before. There isn't enough cushioning to call it that. Instead, they're paper-thin, so thin that I can see through them. It's also slick - They are easy to slip into my shoes (due to their thinness), but they also slide down as I walk - Not all the way down, still above my heel, but just below the shoe's heel. As I take off my shoes, they slide down over my heel. They appear to be good wool, soft and breathable, but 34% nylon might be too much- It's because of this that they're slick and won't stay put. Nylon shouldn't be used in ankle socks in excess of 20 percent. 25%? I'm not sure, but I'll have to look for some socks that are cushioned in real life rather than in the manufacturer's imagination.
They also don't itch despite being made primarily of wool. (The best wool for this is merino wool. ) I took them for a 2-mile run to see how they felt, and they were surprisingly comfortable, albeit hot! I wore them during my winter/early spring runs, or just around the house instead of slippers, because it was about 60 degrees F outside. If the cut on the ankle works with your shoes, I could see them being great for backpacking at high altitudes. br>br>I also washed them, and they came out fine, even when I put them in the dryer on low accidentally. br>br>I snapped a photo of myself wearing a pair with one sock inside-out to show the texture on the inside; whoever designed these socks made sure they were both breathable and comfortable. I'm an eight-year-old girl who wears a size eight. In women's sizes, the S/M is a good fit.
I run quite a few miles per week, so a good sock plays an important role in my exercise routine. I used to wish they were a little tighter, but that is no longer the case. They're fantastic, and I've worn them a lot. I also wore them on a day when I didn't feel like wearing them. It's also a workout day. They went perfectly with my mid-length skirt. Standing straight for 6 minutes in high Vans Sk8 sneakers. My feet were so happy with these socks after 5 hours in high 80°F weather! They weren't too hot, and they kept my feet dry! They got along swimmingly with them. These socks are a good fit for me because I wear a women's size 8 shoe. These are by far my favorite pair of socks. I've also run in them in 100-degree weather, and my feet were just as comfortable as if it were cold outside! Because they're wool, it's also a good idea to wash them inside out.
I bought these to solve the problem of my feet always being damp when I went for long walks or runs. These certainly helped, but I think they would have worked better for me if they were above the ankle rather than below. At least, since the injury I sustained on my lower right ankle as a result of my old shoes! br>br>Because of the wool, I'll most likely wear these as a base layer over the cheaper full-length socks that I'll be wearing during the long winter here! br>br>Would strongly advise.
When I have minor swelling in my feet, I wear compression socks while running or walking at a fast pace. I thought I'd give these Samsox sockets a try because they were unique. Let me begin by saying WOW. I have no idea how they function, but they do. I really like the low cut, and my feet feel great while wearing these socks. They give me a boost of energy and perform admirably in my activities. The extra padding on the bridge areas of the feet makes my tennis shoes feel great, and the low-cut design helps with circulation. I can't say enough good things about these socks!.
Smartwool boot socks are the only thing that keeps my feet from blistering. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE UP TO THIS POINT. And they're half the price of smart wool socks! They're more breathable and cooler. They're absolutely fantastic! I wasn't optimistic when I got them because they were so thin, but I decided to give them a shot. I was taken aback by how happy I was! The socks don't fall down. They don't fall down in a clump. On my feet, there are no hot spots or blisters. These are truly incredible. This is a purchase you will not be sorry for.
I like these socks now that I've gotten used to the thinner feel. However, because I have a bunion, the thinner sock does not adequately cushion or protect my bunion during my longer runs; however, if you have normal feet, this would not be an issue! I've been running in them during Maine's mud season, and they're holding up just like wool when wet. They keep your feet warm. I like the short ankle length because it allows me to wear them with other shoes while running errands around town. These socks come at a reasonable price. I've only had them for a short time, so I'm not sure how well they'll hold up in the long run, but the fit for my size 9 foot is good according to their fit guide.
