I've been using it for karate for over a week now, and I am truly pleased with it. It makes sense that it's a heavyweight gi because the snap is so nice. I like this collar in spite of the fact that it's itchy and uncomfortable a little.
The product is fantastic. Thanks for taking me back to my younger days. In addition to my black belt fading, I had a black gi that lasted for years. The best of my life.
This is an excellent product. You're the best!.
A normal XL shirt and pants that are a 38 waist and 34 inseam will fit me. I stand 6', 215 lbs. and wear an XL shirt and pants. The products of different manufacturers usually put me into sizes 5 and 6. In my opinion, a heavyweight Euro/Western cut gi would be best. Due to the fact that this gi is all cotton, I chose a size 6 knowing that I could shrink it a bit if need be. It must have been modeled after some alien environment since I don't know who or what they used. In terms of the migoro (the part of the jacket that pulls sideways over the front) this jacket is for someone thinner and perhaps with a 34-inch waist. It is fortunate that the himo (tie strings) are long and compensate for my belly size. The pants waist is so big, it can accommodate a size 46 or 48 waist without being too tight. I sometimes worry that the pants might fall down, even when I cinch the drawstring extremely tightly. Two times now I have tried washing with hot water but it hasn't shrunk A mismatch in size between the top and pants is understandable, but why would there be one? As far as the drawstring goes, I was thinking about replacing it with something thicker so I am more confident that it will stay around my waist.
The included white belt is probably the least substantial belt I have ever handled Despite being very thin, it is extremely light. However, if you are buying this gi, it is likely that you are not a beginner and that you have ranked up enough to need such a weighty kit. I am going to talk about the construction and function of the GI. Strong and substantial, the heavyweight cotton feels good to the touch. The gi on my son feels heavy when rolled up as compared to his lightweight gi. The snap that is a characteristic of kata is satisfying and commands attention from I felt that it would stand up to a long time of use as I sparred with it. It is alright if it fits you, but a good gi IF.
