Questions & Answers
It will not work if your horse's girth is less than 66 inches. Check the girth of the pony, just behind the withers, with a sewer's tape. It should fit him if he's that big around the middle or even bigger.
It's perfect for my 13-year-old daughter. There are a few notches left on this 3h cob. So it's possible, depending on the size of your yearling.
At its largest adjustment, it measures approximately 70 to 71 inches all the way around!
It should be able to fit my 14hh and 14hh. Quarter horses with a height of two feet and a width of two feet and a width of two feet

It's too big for a regular horse. What kind of pony would this be appropriate for? My score is a 15. It doesn't go around 2 QH who are in reasonable shape. How do I obtain suitable extensions, which, by the way, I should not be required to purchase? You didn't call it a pony surcingle, did you? My horse isn't overweight and it's at least four inches short. Right now, I'm not in a good mood. For a simple extension, I had to pay $15. There are no rings underneath this sirscingle. For that price, I could have bought a nicer surcingle. This is a Weaver product, which is supposed to be a reputable and high-quality product. No one has time to return low-quality items. Misrepresentation is used to grade products and play online games. You have a $15 cash balance due to me.
When I was pregnant, a friend suggested that I get one of these and use it to assist him from the ground. He doesn't like it at first, but after we've done it, he's much better at standing and walking under himself. This is fantastic. I've been using it three times a week on my horse and friends for five months, and it still looks brand new.
The quality of this surcingle is excellent, but it is too small for me. I'm using it on a 17-hand thoroughbred, and I had to add a girth extender, but that's not a big deal! On my horse's back, the "saddle" portion is thick and comfortable, but the girth is thin. I've always used fleece/padded girths on my horses, so he was cinching when I used the girth that came with the surcingle to cinch him up. The only thing I would change about this product is the addition of rings on the girth to which I could attach my pessoa, but it's still a fantastic product!.
This is a good product, but the one that comes with it does not fit my horse, so I had to use my long dressage girth with it. He stands over 16 hands tall and has a large girth, as do most TB's. The surcingle, on the other hand, is a great product: it's easy to clean, stretches, and adjusts.
Not suitable for a large or even a medium-sized horse.
Surcingle is one of my favorite Surcingles. IT'S A SMALL THING! It fits my 2-year-old stocky paint mare, but not my 7-year-old stocky quarterhorse gelding or my 4-year-old HUS quarter horse gelding. However, if you're using it on a young horse, it should be fine. OR, for $15 on Amazon, you can purchase a nylon girth extender, which will fit larger horses. I've read that it doesn't have a lot of padding in other reviews. I'm not sure how much padding you'll need, but it'll be similar to a neoprene girth used on a western saddle (all the way around). I think there's enough padding because it's squishy. It's also reinforced, which I like. Overall, this is a fantastic value for money purchase.
It has a very small footprint. The rings are very high up, and there are barely any buckles. Despite being kept in an insulated, climate-controlled tack room, all metal corroded after a few months.
