I don't wear gloves when I'm using it. My horses, on the other hand, do not have the ability to pull. You might need to wear gloves to protect your hands if your horses pull back a lot.
Selected User Reviews For Weaver Leather Flat Cotton Lunge Line with Snap
The length is ideal, and the snap is extremely functional. The cotton, however, is of very poor quality. When I work with hunter/jumper horses on the lunge line, I either have to let out a lot of line at once or get strong and keep them on the lunging circle. So many times, this lunge line has ripped my hands. My palm was burned, and my fingers were rubbed raw by the rope. Invest in a cotton line that is padded - It was well worth the extra money.
Exactly as stated. It is a good deal. Before using, place the lingerie in a medium mesh lingerie laundry bag and wash it. It's more comfortable to hold, and the horse can clearly hear your vibrations/aids on the line.
It is also a good lunge line. Clips with a lot of heft to them.
Horses are what I got. These were also used to sling a tarp over a metal frame structure. It's very useful.
It's not a heavy line, but it has enough weight/feel to release any pressure you might be applying to your horse's bridle/bit, and my horses get immediate positive feed back as they soften, etc. I lunge with light weight leather gloves, and this line has smooth edges and a good width, so I have a nice feel in my hands. At a reasonable price, a good product.
The length and weight are both excellent. However, I prefer a swivel lunge line.
I like the line's weight and stiffness, but I wish it had a stronger clip.
It was beneficial to her horse.
