It's a sphere of some sort. Because of the poor quality and the fact that the yellow faded after a few weeks, I would not recommend it.

I hung it from a thick tree branch in our backyard, and you wouldn't believe how entertained my German Shepherd is; she keeps jumping up and playing tether ball by herself! It's hilarious to watch her interact with it. After a long time, I finally wore out and the rope broke, but it was well worth it! A+ :.
This was purchased for my daughter's dogs, who enjoy chasing a rope ball. The dogs adore it after we inflated it and tied it to a tree limb. Even as a dog toy (it's not made to be a dog toy), it's very durable and of good quality, and yes, one of the dogs bit a hole in it- It's still useful, though. able to play with it in a variety of ways It does not completely flatten out. The rope can withstand a lot of abuse as well. It's tethered to a San Antonio mesquite tree and hasn't broken through the rough bark yet. It is also roughly handled by the dogs. Overall, I'm very happy with it. The only difficulty is getting the dogs to stop playing with it. When we loop it over a branch, they've figured out how to bring it back down. This was a good investment. After I raised the ball higher to get them to stop playing, I took this video. They have a tendency to exhaust themselves.
This was purchased to be hung in a tree for my dog to play tetherball with. He began playing with it before I was able to hang it (which I never did). His preferred toy is this one. He enjoys kicking it (with his nose) and chasing it, but he especially enjoys grabbing the string and pulling the ball behind him! This has greatly aided his desire to chase, and he also enjoys it when I kick or throw it for him to chase. I like that I can kick it instead of having to bend down to pick it up. We haven't used it in a long time because we haven't needed it. It's been three months since I've stopped using it, and it's still holding up against my shepard-lab mix (aggressive chewer).
I found an old one in the yard that my dog loved; it was great to kick around and very durable, but after months and months of play, it finally deflated; I wanted to replace it, but this wasn't it. Not like the older ones, which were made better, the thing popped in no time. For me, it was a complete waste of time.
My daughter will stay outside and swing this ball for hours; I like to go outside and hit it, and she will return the hit; all of her neighbors are amused by how excited she is about it; her last one popped, and she went into instant sadness; I'll buy 100 if I have to as long as she is happy.
It's well-made, and it may be weighted to comply with regulations, but MAN! It's a HEAVY THING. My children are no longer interested in playing with it because the ball is so heavy that hitting it hurts.
This product appears to be devoid of UV inhibitors, which would make it ideal for an inside ball. Who, on the other hand, plays tether ball indoors?.
Two large dogs played tetherball for a week, ripping the pole out of the ground and dragging it away. The ball held its ground for far longer than anything else in the yard.
