The molds that came with this kit are very strong and sturdy, so we built a mini rock climb for the kids. It includes everything you'll need to put them up on the plyboards you purchased. The bolts and nuts that come with these molds are made of high-quality metal and are extremely durable. The molds do have a texture to them, which helps to keep them from slipping. When it came to grabbing them, I was able to grab and pull myself up without difficulty, and I've even seen my children do it. The molds were a little too small for my liking when it came to stepping on them, but I wear a men's size 11 shoe, whereas my kids' feet are much smaller, so it fits them much better than mine, and the nylon rope that came with it was easy to install to help them pull themselves up if they chose to use it instead. The rope, like the climbing molds, is extremely durable. We'll definitely buy these again when it comes time to expand this climbing wall.
We put it on top of a cushion in case she fell. It's fairly simple to put together. Some people claimed that hardware was missing, which I didn't notice, but if I needed more bolts, I could go to any hardware store. At my middle school, we had a rock wall, and these appear to be of comparable quality. My interest in rock climbing has grown as I've gotten older, and I'm sure my daughter's will as well. I expected these to be much more expensive, but they were actually quite affordable. It's possible that a larger wall is required!.
I had originally purchased a different set of rocks, but was dissatisfied with the size (most were tiny, and only a few were large), until I came across this set, which was the perfect size for a rock wall for our grandkids, ages 3-9.
These handholds provide excellent support. Made of a tough, thick plastic that should last for years of climbing and exposure to the sun. The rope was plenty long for my 4-and-a-half-foot wall. There are no issues. Simply ensure that the bolt holes are perfectly straight when drilling them. Any angle other than 90 degrees makes grabbing the locking nut on the other side extremely difficult.
I was extremely dissatisfied with the product's quality. The fading of the colors is appalling. We've had our rock wall up for about three weeks, and the color has faded noticeably! A product designed to be exposed to the sun and elements should be at the very least fade resistant; however, this is NOT the case. It was a complete waste of money for a product that now appears to be fading to a grey/white color in less than a month. Customer who is extremely dissatisfied.
Hardware is extremely difficult to work with. We ended up just using screws that we had on hand. Aside from that, it was a fantastic rock wall.
Because I ALWAYS use my own hardware, I am unable to comment on its quality. The rock pieces are of the same high quality as the park itself! I'm hoping that my little do-it-yourself project will weather well. If it falls apart, I'll let you know!.
It's so adorable. That's exactly what I was looking for. Quality product with a lot of sturdiness. The only thing that went wrong was that I didn't have the proper bolt attachment. They hand it over to you, but it's in manual form. This is more difficult than you might believe.
