I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done. As long as the holes are properly drilled and the height is maintained. The metal ones are a little low to the ground, so make sure you have enough clearance.

To what else is it being affixed? Increase the cost by $40-$50. Sell it for $50, and include the bracket that is required for installation. Also, if you aren't including the bracket or it is noted that it isn't included, don't describe the swing as "adaptable and fits most swing sets" and don't include a picture of it if you aren't including it. It's not adaptable, and without the bracket, it won't fit on most swingsets. Otherwise, it's a fantastic swing.
The bracket that attaches to the swing set's frame is not included in the purchase price. This was deceptive, and because I wasn't aware of it, I didn't have everything we needed to set up the swing. The bracket is the part of the frame to which the swing is attached on either side. Without it, you won't be able to swing. I bought it for my kids for Christmas, but when we opened the box, it said parts were sold separately. Of course, it was too late to find the part, so my kids didn't get to enjoy it. Will need to place an order for the other part and wait for it to arrive.
My children, as well as the children of my neighbors, enjoy swinging on it, either alone or in groups. The quality appears to be excellent, and the assembly took less than 5 minutes.
Glider arrived, but there were no parts with it. There are no screws, assembly instructions, chains, or anything else! The seat and the handles are the only things that are missing. It was a huge let down.
Make sure to read the description to learn that the hanging hardware is not included and must be purchased separately.
This is a huge hit with my grandchildren. It's a tough piece. It was easy to put together.
Because the holes aren't drilled properly, the hex head bolt won't fit through. It's nearly impossible to put together. I've been at it for an hour and haven't gotten any closer to getting the first bolt through than when I first opened the box.
The 'big kids' will love it.
