This was a set that I really, really wanted to like. It could fold in half and hold on to the bags in two different ways. It was a fantastic concept, but once it was put into production, it was clear that some corners had been cut. br>br>First and foremost, the bags are extremely lightweight. To replicate the feel of "regulation" type bags, we had to fold them in half. We spent some time putting one of the legs back on after it popped off while playing. The size of the board is much smaller than it appears in the pictures. Is more suited to children or those who prefer to play in small spaces. br>br>When I went to pack it up after deciding it was going back, I noticed the bean bags had disappeared from their "holder" on the back. Because the bags are smaller, the holder part does not seal tightly, and they fall through. I was able to locate all of them and replace them, but when it came time to join the front and back, I was unable to do so due to warped boards. br>br>Because of the poor quality, I had to return it. I tried to keep things as low-cost as possible, but a good cornhole will set you back $100. If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be. This is a good buy because it is a seasonal version that is easy to transport and has iffy quality.
It's all nonsense. If you place any weight on it, the legs will fold back and bend the plastic, rendering it useless. With my kids, this was demolished in the first five minutes. Purchases should be avoided. It only takes a small slip and a hand on the board to bend it back, and that's the end of it. Stay away from it.
I really don't want to give this a poor rating. I bought this for a camping trip and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived because the materials appeared to be sturdy (in the past, I had owned several sets that were plastic and didn't last long). Putting the set together is a bit of a chore; it's not difficult, but it takes some time. However, this was not a significant issue. When assembling the second ladder set, I noticed what appeared to be a bad weld, causing the base connector (see photo) to be crooked. I heard a snap when I screwed in the piece it was attached to, and sure enough, the base connector had snapped, rendering the entire thing useless. Fortunately, the other ladder set was in excellent working order, and we were able to make do by taking turns on one ladder set. If I hadn't seen my purchase split in half before I had a chance to use it, I would have definitely given it a higher rating. I didn't want to drag a broken ladder back with me, so I tossed the old one. It's not worth the time and effort to package everything up and send it back.
My children and I are delighted with their new gift. I also like how it looks and how easily it can be stored. We're off to the park for some park fun after a quick grab. I like how everything folds up into a small package. I'm debating whether to get a second one or the tic tac toe one that looks similar. There will be many more enjoyable moments with the children. As an adult, I enjoy it as well. It reminds me of my childhood. I also like the hard plastic design.
a lack of quality control After having two previous plastic versions that broke fairly quickly, I decided to go with this set. I wanted something that would last, and the overall quality appears to be good, and given the all-metal construction, I expect it to last a long time. br>br>It had one significant flaw. The holes for the screws that hold the cross bar in place were not drilled in one of the top side bars. I decided to drill the holes myself rather than going through the trouble of returning. But there was no way this should have reached the consumer in this form. What a hassle.
I needed to replace a cheap plastic set that was falling apart, so I looked for something that appeared to be more durable. When I compared the reviews of both the better PVC sets and the metal sets, it appeared that metal was the best choice; I chose this set over others with similar reviews because I liked how the legs had a small footprint, so they wouldn't kill any grass if they were left in the yard for any length of time. br>br>The set arrived two days after I ordered it, and assembly was simple, but I'd recommend getting a good phillips-head screwdriver. When it comes to the small screws that hold the leg storage brackets on, you should use a head screwdriver rather than the provided tool, though the provided tool is fine for the bolts that hold the crossbars to the frame. br>br>My wife and I played a few games, and we couldn't believe how sturdy this thing was in comparison to the plastic one we tossed out. Even when we threw some pretty hard tosses, it barely moved. The balls appear to be in good condition, despite the fact that they are larger than golf balls. Erratic throws won't cause as much damage as they would with a harder ball because it's nice and soft but heavy. Unless someone gets a little tipsy at one of our parties and falls on top of it, the set appears to be in good shape. The metal tubes might bend, but I'm not sure. Even if the game is billed as a "tailgate" game, I suppose you can't expect the manufacturer to take that into account. br>br>So, first impressions are that this is a fantastic set that is also very portable (due to the bent design). And, while I'm not a Green Bay fan, the colors appeal to me, and my daughter, who is, will adore them.
These are a good set of lightweight cornholes for traveling. I would get something sturdier and larger for home use, but we bought this to take on vacations and it worked perfectly. It's definitely more for "fun" than competition, so if you're serious about cornhole, invest in a more professional set. I'm giving three stars instead of four because the product's video shows you can carry both sets flat and by the top handle, but I've found this to be ineffective. Because the boards buckled and the beanbags fell out, you're only carrying in two pieces. It's not a major issue, but it irritated me. Although the beanbags are small, the compartment in which they are stored is ideal. If you're serious about cornhole, this set isn't for you; it's more for fun and passing the time at a friend's house or at the beach.
