Questions & Answers
Hi, depending on how your bow holder attaches, it may be difficult to remove the arm rest pad and you may be able to cut a chunk out where you want to install the holder. You'd have to cut it off to get it off because it's designed to stay on. Thanks!
The platform and the seat can be separated, but the platform is one solid piece.
No, there aren't two of them. It does, however, have enough space for one person. I'd be able to fit in there comfortably as a large man.

This stand appeals to me because it is spacious, sturdy, and appears to be well constructed. Because of two factors, I am unable to give it a five-star rating. The first was that I needed to add more ratchet straps to secure it to the tree the way I wanted it (I'm sure it would have been fine with the designed equipment provided, but I wanted it rock solid to the tree). The second issue is that when you flip the seat up, a square piece of tubing rotates against the tree, making noise against the pine tree to which it is attached. This stand is not as comfortable or easy to hang as my Millennium Monster 150 hang on stand, but it is over half the price, and if it lasts the rest of the year, I plan on purchasing a few more next year. I like this stand, and if you're debating between one of the millennium stands and this one, I'd recommend the millennium if you only need one stand, but if you need multiple stands or are on a tighter budget, this is a really solid tree stand that you won't be disappointed with.
Once inside, this is a fantastic stand! Very stable and comfortable. I would strongly advise and implore you to use a lineman and lifeline when installing this, not only because it is bulky and heavy, but also because it is bulky and heavy. Few tips. After you've positioned the stand, add a hook to keep it in place. I used an extra long garage hook, which I first installed before hoisting the stand up and securing it with a hook. The second, and most important, step is to read the directions! The reason I say that is because you must first raise the platform, then lower the stand to lock it in place. If you try to tighten the stand while the platform is down, it will not work. Last but not least, the seat does get in the way a little when climbing in, so please use a life line once more.
regrettably. The stand itself is fantastic; it's comfortable and stable, but the strap that secures it to the tree is only available in one size, which was a problem for me because the tree I was trying to hang it from was too large around. I inquired about a longer strap by contacting the company. The woman I spoke with informed me that the company does not make a larger strap and that I should either choose a different tree or return the stand. I hung up and went to the hardware store, where I purchased a 1000 lb. She was held in place by a ratchet strap. Haha, she's not going anywhere.
So far, everything has gone well. This is my first year using this stand, and since I already have a buck this year, my buddy has been the primary user because it is located in one of my primary rut areas. br>However, sitting in it for up to 6 hours wasn't too bad the times I used it. br>The adjustable arm rests are great for sitting in and getting into the stand; I have to put them up to help me step off the ladder sticks with one leg and into the stand. br>I'll have to ask a friend who has used it more than me and see what he thinks. br>If there is one complaint, it is that the size makes it a little difficult to put into tree, but it is well worth the extra effort before season for the comfort it will provide you when it matters most: when you are sitting in a stand day after day waiting for that "hammer" to walk by.
I was sceptical at first, but I decided to give it a shot. I must say, I'm blown away. After owning several other brands of hang on stands for various reasons, this one is the best in terms of comfort, and it came in excellent condition with all parts. The parts are packaged in two heavy plastic bags, and assembly is minimal. Unpacking and assembling should take no more than 15 minutes. All pivoting points are fitted with plastic washers/spacers. It's a little heavy and bulky, so it's not exactly a hike in and hang it stand for public land; however, I'll be using it on private property and will leave it in the woods throughout the season to see how it holds up to the elements. To hang, I used the large foot climbing sticks and some additional screw-in steps to reach the required height of approximately 22 feet. I hoisted it up and held it in place with a lag screw eyelet and some rope while I attached the tree strap. Once it's snug, the stand's lever action will securely lock it in place. That same evening, I went out hunting and sat for a little over three hours without any issues. It is EXTREMELY relaxing. There are no creaks, squeaks, or other noises. On the first evening sit, I made a buck! The base is large enough for boots, and the extra footrest space allows you to relax. The seat is comfortable, and the padded armrests and seat pivot silently up and out of the way when needed. When I stood to draw, I folded the seat back using the backs of my legs. It's quiet once more - This stand has no metal to metal contact, which I like, and I'll buy more if it holds up.
This is my third Rivers Edge stand, the first two of which have an older style basket cushion seat that floats on the straps. I wanted to try out the new style of seat, so I ordered this stand. A few things disappointed me greatly. First and foremost, the craftsmanship is inferior to that of my older stands. The back of the stand, which is against the tree, had a crooked U mount welded on it. Because the top and bottom are not aligned, the "Lever Action" tightening does not work as well. Although the seat is extremely comfortable, the distance between the seat and the stand is excessively long. I'm not short, I'm 5' 10", and when I put my feet on the foot rest, my knees are barely bent, so this is going to be an uncomfortable hunt. To keep the platform at a 90 degree angle, I'll be removing 2 inches from the bottom of the stand and remounting the cables.
To install the plastic spacers as instructed, I had to pry apart the frame with a screwdriver. This is a heavy stand, but it's well-made; I set up my stands before hunting season with the help of a rope and pulley, so the weight isn't an issue. When installed according to the instructions, this stand locks solidly to the tree without any movement or stability issues, making it a 5 star stand with minor flaws. Very comfortable and spacious stand. The fold up seat with independent fold up arm rests really compliments the stand and allows for several different sitting or standing configurations. This is the most comfortable hang-on stand I've ever used.
