The bad guy is dark gray, just a shade lighter than his clothing, and the lines on the bad guy are the same color as his clothing. At any distance, you won't be able to detect it. The center X and inner circle, like the two circles in the upper left and right, are just a shade lighter than the outline and not visually appealing. You're shooting at a monochrome Silhouette without the benefit of a contrasting aiming point, as shown in the listing with high contrast. I haven't shot these yet, but I'm confident they'll leave a splatterburst hole wherever they hit.
I usually purchase the regular splatter burst targets, which I enjoy a great deal. They have a vibrant color that makes it easy to spot hits. I got these because there's a bad guy on there, and I figured it'd be interesting to see where he gets hit. So I got them, and they're dark and subdued. It's difficult to see, and it's much darker than in the advertisement photo. I included a photo that appears dark even with the lights turned on. I suppose I could act like I'm shooting in low light. It's possible that my batch was dark.
She can see her hits without having to constantly reel in the target because of the sharp contrast change. A fun feature is the color change in the center mass (red vs green). This feature can also be found in the top right and left smaller targets, as well as the perp's head's center. When rolled up, they have a tendency to curl, but this is easily remedied with a little tape. When these are gone, we'll place another order. Patch dots would have been nice, but they aren't a deal-breaker for me.
It is great at the range where we target dead center areas on other posters or headshots everywhere else, but what I really like about these is that we can use bullseye targets for them and take the 12" sticky bullseye markers and stick the center exactly where I want to hit,!.
If you shoot at an outdoor range and can't walk down to see your targets after a few shots due to the heat, these are for you. If you shoot indoors, these are for you as well. They depict a nice hole in the target with a splash of green color where it was hit. If you use a cardboard backer, you can stick multiple splatterburst targets on it because some of them will peel off. I usually bring several guns to the range so that I can shoot at multiple splatter targets without having to switch targets. They also sell cover stickies to cover the bullet holes, which are very useful. I like that they come in a variety of sizes, so you can set up a few on a cardboard backer for precision shooting.
These did exactly what they said they would. When compared to the regular highlighter yellow hits, I like how the "bullseyes" create bright orange splatters. It's possible that the reason the paint chips off in storage is because it works best in a temperature and humidity controlled environment. In my experience, if these aren't included, the black "splatter" coating is more prone to flaking. br>br>I shoot 9mm and 5mm with mine. I'd imagine these targets will splatter with anything from a BB gun to an arrow to get the job done.
These targets are simply fun to shoot. They're a good fit for me because I practice combat pistol. I also enjoy shoot-and-see targets because they allow me to choose whether or not to approach the target. I've already ruined a few of them, and there's a good chance I'll ruin a few more.
For the price, it's a fantastic target, and I love the red splatter in the center. It's highly visible and simple to read. It's a lot more useful now that there are two additional targets on the corners. Some targets would have the same design as others, but with empty corners, wasting space. I appreciate the fact that I can use all of the paper provided by this company at no additional cost.
