My child's hand is 5 1/2" long from the tip of his middle finger to his wrist, with a 7" circumference. Can anyone measure the small size?

Because I don't have long fingers, I went with the medium, which is perfect for me. The small should fit perfectly around my entire hand, as there are finger cutouts for the index and middle fingers.
