Questions & Answers

Will you be safe from a scorching barrel with these gloves on?

Yes, they will keep you safe from a hot barrel to a certain extent. They are not, however, insulated gloves; instead, they are designed to protect your skin from sharp or rough objects or surfaces. They're light and flexible, making them ideal for shooting.

Where do these come from?

China

Why were the velcro retention straps on the gloves removed? Is it possible to wear them together without the straps?

The velcro was useful for tightening the gloves, but it was more likely to tear if you pulled them on by the tab. Without the straps, the gloves are very secure.

Is there a small loop for a carabiner clip on both?

My gloves had a loop at the base of the palm with which I could pull them on. The gloves could be threaded on a carabiner using that loop.

Magpul, what the hell is going on with you? I'm just not sure what Magpul stands for
3/5

which is known for producing high-quality goods - When something like this passed their quality control, I was thinking. The flaw is so serious that it's impossible to ignore it. one's- Face it, the only explanation, at least in my opinion, is that Magpul simply does not care. Imagine looking down at the left glove's palm and seeing one of the little finger's seams running straight down the middle. Yes, it's sad, but that's not the end of the list of issues with these gloves. br>br>On the other hand, these other issues have little or nothing to do with quality control, but they are all unavoidable consequences of poor design. When I tried to use the pair as shooting gloves, I immediately and loudly asked why such gloves needed such hard stitches facing inward; I felt hotspots in numbers unmatched by any other glove I'd worn on a range. The index finger, and yes, right where it contacts the trigger, and the thumb, where a stitch runs directly across the pad of the finger - these were the two that bothered me the most. Another obvious and thus careless omission. The first was particularly nasty, with plenty of help from the thumbs, and both caused a small slice of misery after about an hour. To add insult to injury, simply putting them on the next day gave a burning sensation to all the seemingly forgotten areas. And it's because of this feeling that I've made the decision to return them. br>br>Just to be fair. . . I have a second pair of Magpul gloves, B084NX342N (also sold by Amazon, so no conflict), that are thinner but much more comfortable for shooting. And there are no flaws.

Gloves are adequate, but they are not worth $50
3/5

Pros: br>Gloves were comfortable to wear, didn't interfere with my ability to feel the gun, and kept my hands warm in the rain. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>After my first use of these gloves, I noticed that they have a major flaw in their design. On both hands, there is a large seam that runs right over the end of my thumb pad (note how the black leather wraps all the way up and over the tip of every finger except the thumb in the photos). At first, I didn't notice the seam, but after loading 20-plus pounds, it became apparent. After 30 rounds, I developed a hot spot on my right thumb, which worsened as the workout progressed. Nothing that a shooter couldn't push through, but I expected more from $50 gloves that say "Magpul" on the outside. Who hasn't considered using their thumb to reload a round in a shooting glove? These gloves now feel like they were thrown together in China/India for the airsoft crowd, rather than being serious shooting gloves. br>br>In terms of touch screen compatibility, my iPhone was mediocre. The phone would eventually register what I wanted after several attempts at a gesture. It's probably still faster than removing the glove and using my finger, but not by much. That said, I'd take finger warmth and added protection from a hot barrel over perfect touch screen compatibility any day, so I'm not holding the gloves against them because of screen issues. br>br>Overall, these gloves are most likely to be returned. I'm going to give them one more chance just to make sure there isn't a workaround, but I'm not holding my breath given the thumb seams' incredibly poor placement. It's also a shame because I liked these gloves until the thumb seams became a $50 issue.

It's a great fit for me, but I haven't tried it yet
5/5

I just got these yesterday, so as the title implies, I haven't had a chance to play with them yet. The only issue I have with the gloves is that, unlike the majority of Magpul's other products, they are not manufactured in the United States. It's one of the main reasons I like supporting their company, but like their glasses, they may have had to have them made elsewhere. br>br>I know some people have complained about how uncomfortable the fit is, but these were perfect for my hands. The thumbs and fingers are nice and snug. The palm of my hand is a little off, but that's to be expected, and I'm hoping it doesn't loosen up too much. If I wear them in the winter, I'll probably buy another pair so that one of them isn't stretched out from a cold weather glove liner. br>br>The grip on these gloves is phenomenal, based on what I've seen in less than a day. I can easily work with my gloves on some actions where I have trouble applying pressure with just my hand. I'm not sure how long they'll last, but unless you're using them all the time, they seem like they'll last a while. br>br>In terms of the touch screen, I haven't been able to use them with my tablet, but I didn't buy them for that purpose. This aspect of them has less of an impact on me than the gloves' fit, function, and durability. br>br>I'll try to keep this updated as I use them in the future.

It works
3/5

Gloves that are mediocre but come at a reasonable price. They don't appear to be as bad as some other reviewers have claimed, but they do appear to be durable enough for the price range. Definitely not a police officer's glove! br>br>The stitching was mostly accurate, with the exception of the right pinky and left thumb, where the stitching appears to get in the way of the finger tips, but this isn't a problem. br>br>The touchscreen works to some extent, but it isn't critical for my purposes. When it comes to tactical items, the gloves perform admirably. Finally, my measurements were large, but I went up a size because that's how I've always done with tactical gloves. br>br>These gloves are as good as they get for the money, and it's a shame Magpul doesn't offer kevlar-reinforced nomex gloves. It would be a good investment.
