Product Description

A HIGH-CONTRAST, COLORED FRONT SIGHT is available for Remington 870 pedestal and Mossberg 500 models or other models with plain barrels.
Choose from WHITE WITH TRITIUM, PHOTOLUMINESCENT GLOW DOT WITH TRITIUM (ORANGE OR YELLOW), OR EMBER GLOW DOT WITHOUT TRITIUM (ORANGE OR YELLOW). In bright light, the brightly colored Glow Dot makes it easy to acquire the front sights quickly. properties of photoluminescence enable them to absorb ambient light and glow in low lights. This LED will function in conjunction with Tritium, which emits a glow 24/7 but is only visible in low light conditions.
We consider the Big Dot bead to be a must-have for home defense shotgun upgrades owing to its easy DIY installation.
The sight bodies are made of steel to prevent rust, corrosion, and wear from drops, cleaning chemicals and spills.
A product that is made in the United States, with U.S. products. This product is made of steel and is backed by a 10-year warranty. Precision machined in Fort Worth, Texas, from start to finish, XS sights are built for each gun. Despite the fact that we offer a no-questions-asked guarantee on all of our sights, we stand by them.

Questions & Answers

In some images of the big dot uploaded on the internet, some tritium seems to be glowing in an indoor light source. The light in my house is not even close to What happened to my purchase?

It does not appear so to me The sights I have (XS Big Dot on the Shockwave and countless others on various handguns) only glow in low light or when there is no light. The large white outline of the XS sight is what I focus on in daylight.

Do you think it will work with a 1300 Defender?

Yes, in fact. If you want to make the Winchester work properly, you must replace first the factory bead. You can use a Brownell's #6 for this task. An excess of material may be present on the inside of the barrel, but roto tools can easily remove it.

Is it possible to use this on a sight with a ?

a good fit and a good fit During installation, old beads have to be removed & replaced with new ones The bead was replaced with a new one from Sight XS. XS Sight should be able to fit on a pedestal wide enough to accommodate the pedestal. Due to the thinness of most pedestals, they are often uncomfortable to sit on There is no limit to the base size of the XS Sight.

Neither the pedestal option nor the plain barrel sound right to me. Having a bead with a hex base means I can mount it anywhere I want. Are you able to explain this?

What is the best way to mount the bead - directly on a round barrel or on a pedestal, like the Remington 870s. Your shotgun should have a plain barrel if it has a small bead with a hex base drilled directly into the barrel, such as on a Mossberg. As the steel sight will not fit over the hex base and Mossberg's patented threading makes this model a bead-only model, the XS kit comes with a replacement bead for this model. Other gun models with bead bases with hex bases that are on plain barrels require you to select another plain barrel model, but you'll also need to make sure you can find a bead with the threading of the original.

It is well worth the cost
5/5

Item of the highest quality. This method worked well for me, and my results were fantastic. As if it just came out of a It is solid as a rock. The key to success is preparation. You should rough up all contact surfaces and remove any traces of oil and grease. For the purpose of holding the JB to cure, I used a "C" clamp. There is only one addition I'd like to make to the installation tips. Put a clamp on it (you don't need too much pressure) and use q-tips You can clean up the sight base with alcohol and a few tips. Take it back after an hour and let it cure again. The very small bit of dirt that will be visible around the base can be wiped away with a tooth pick. A thin, gray line of JB will disappear around the base of the camera that you typically see in customer photos. That tiny little bit was removed to make it look like it was installed from the factory. Daytime views of the site are bright and visible, with the big white eye clearly visible. This is not an inexpensive item, but neither is it an inexpensive item to make. It has a very bright light, and the fit and finish are top notch. It is fully covered by XS for the first 10 years and XS replaces the lamp for a nominal fee from year 11 onward.

There's no such thing as a second chance
4/5

There's no such thing as a second chance. The first time I received one, it was used and damaged. I returned it, and received one that was in good condition It came as expected in box one. The sight screwed right in, no threading issues, and the translucent tritium with white outline is very easy to see. The sight's radius matches the barrel perfectly, and the tritium with white outline provides a very clear and comfortable view. A lower sight on this shotgun would have caused the shots (or slugs) to be shot higher. A higher sight would put the shots (or slugs) right where they are The bonus is nice! In addition, another point to note is As many people are gluing these with JB-Seal, I am curious how they secured them The welding process. There's a problem with this, as JB- (regular) is not suitable for this Concrete is like cement, a very hard material. If you fire a gun, you see the barrel expand and the whip (like in slow m- Videos of mo cars) This can cause your JB weld to fall apart, and you may If you're using epoxy, you'll want to find one that's tough, but not rock-hard. I used the clear, marine-grade JB weld, and it has worked well so far.

That looks good, but there are a few As of yet, I have not been to the range with it, but it looks and feels like it should work
4/5

In the package, there were no installation instructions. My searches on the Internet came up with the following results. Both the installation and the setup were a little difficult. This gun has a too small bead on an old Mossberg 500. The kit came with a bead that I had to swap out for my own, and that was a little scarier. My hands trembled as I tried to start and I was terrified of dropping the In order to properly lubricate it, you have to install it two times Once to test it and once A solution I came up with is using insulation from a 10 gauge wire. The picture is from my old sight, but it will also work with the new larger beads. You can use it like a nut driver if you stuff the bead inside the insulation. After that, the bead needs to be tightened. There was a hex patterned base and a socket that came off of the old one. There is a round base on the new one. When I thought about this, I remembered an item that was mention that the bead should be scuffed to improve epoxy adhesion. As a result, both bead and XS sight will be covered. Thus, I held the bead firmly and tightened it with some pliers. It was very carefully done so that the pliers would not slip off As you put the XS sight on, you cleaned the barrel with alcohol to remove the bit of excess JB weld.

This sight bead has been greatly improved over factory sight beads
4/5

The pros are This gun sight glows about the same intensity as a pistol sight. Designed for changing environments. It has a white and black insertion for changing environments. It's bigger than a lot of factory beads. The cons are If you do not have the patience to set correctly, you will need a few other tools to go along with the installation. The process is irreversible once it is set up. You It's a good idea to have JB Weld mix, clamps or a vice, some alcohol, a cotton cloth, q tips to clean up the bond mix after you have set the sight, and needle nose pliers for the inset metal bead. My Mossberg 930 came with a cylinder, so I replaced it with another one The gun merchant may have bead sights you can use. As a result, I always shot too high on the target when it was low to the barrel. In light of the maintenance that comes with more expensive scopes, I did not want to spend over 250 dollars on a Holosun. Furthermore, I do not need to invest too much money on a gun since I am not an assassin hired by an organization. Although it has a job to do, it's unlikely to be called on to do that. For my pistol sight in the dark, I wanted something similar to how it feels in the dark on my pistol. It was easy to set up, but I made sure I checked sight alignment while using clamps to hold the sight in place. I can see so much better with the sight since it fits so well. I can pull from the ready position and the bead aligns itself in a "second nature" fashion once all the settings are in place. There is a good possibility that I will never have to use this system for what it was intended. However, I feel much better with this sight than I do with any other battery-powered device, or any smaller or more fragile device.

This is an excellent alternative
5/5

For those of you with a plain bead on your Mossberg this is the sight to get! We took off the existing brass bead and threaded on the bigger brass bead we were supplied with using locktite. Added some JB weld to the hole for the big star sight and on the bottom. Zip tied it to the brass bead and pressed it into place. You can leave it for 24 hours, cut the zip tie and the metal will become solid as a rock.
