There were plenty of birds to be seen there, which was perfect for me! Birds are fascinating to observe up close. The scope is great, but the smart phone adapter is terrible

This scope has a lot of clarity and the 3x magnification makes it very easy to see There is nothing to worry about with the pod. Even so, it would have been nice to have a case that holds all of the components. My first purchase was a lesser model, but the rectangular case is the best I have ever used. It was with the intention of being able to take pictures with my phone through the scope that I bought the I find it so difficult to put the phone in just the right spot By lining it up with the tiny hole over the eyepiece within the adapter, I observe that whatever wildlife I'm watching has long since descended into the darkness. I was able to get it lined up with the camera, but the photos are of poor quality. The photo shows how to do this. It would be great if somebody had a trick on how to make it work better, or if there was another iphone adapter that was.

Educational AND fun at the same time

Spotting scopes to match all your needs! There is no doubt that you will see bright and clear images through this device. Our telescopes were able to see the moon in full effect (despite the pollution in Los Angeles). Due to its waterproof nature, we were able to use it even in the case of light rain. During our observations, we were able to record what the scientists observed. I can't wait for my children to enjoy this educational and fun experience. The camping part of my life will be complete once I am able to use these.

The scope is quite solidly built, and it is extremely easy to use for a scope of its price. It comes with a mounting bracket for a smartphone camera, again, very well made. My only complaint is that it doesn't pivot in the Y direction.
