Questions & Answers

The turkey gun I have at 500 lb. There is one that is made of plastic and camouflaged. A small plastic sling connector is located at the back of the gun. Does anyone know if the sling pins from the UM ?

You can drill a hole in the sling, and I will measure how big the pin is on the sling once you match the drill bit with the hole

What are the compatibility requirements for the Maverick ?

Maverick 88 magazine tubes are similar in dimensions and threading to those of other Mossberg shotguns, such as the 500 and 803. There should be no problem fitting this into a 590.

Do you know if it will fit a 20 gauge as well?

Version 20 of the program didn't match my older version

There is a Maverick 88, which has a small preamp on it There is a horizontal hole already installed in the end of the stock. Is that automatically able to pass through that without any ?

That should be the case. Despite not knowing for sure, the product does not appear to be made for any specific type or model It never occurred to me that I would have trouble fitting it when I purchased mine. It was me who did it. Exactly what you mean when you say "stock end" remains unclear to me. I hope the stock doesn't have a hold in the wood. There is a hole in the wood if it is. Put it out of your mind. In this case, the hole should be in metal with a screw that is securely screwed into Please accept my sincerest thanks for your assistance.

I had a nightmare during installation
3/5

Mossberg Maverick 88 shogun (which is supposed to be nearly identical to the Mossberg 500) required me to install this. Despite the fact that this kit included all the parts for installing the swivels, the actual installation process was a total disaster. easier part was the end of the stock. I was able to easily install the swivel into the existing accessory hole in the stock - there had already been a hole fabricated for accessories. Not a single extra drill bit was required. I was able to secure it in less than a minute.

It was the attachment on the barrel screw that caused the issue. Approximately one-fourth of the kit was made up of a bolt-unscrewing tool, which could be used to remove the retention ring and unbutton the factory boot. There is a problem in that they assume you have superpowers I struggled for over two hours to turn the screw using the spanner tool, since it has no edges, or means of gripping it. But ultimately I had to use two "Vise Grip" pliers on either end to slowly and painfully remove the screw and retainer. Despite my efforts, I never managed to put on the new attachment, and all the screws, retainers, and the "spanner" tool were bent or damaged when it was all done. It feels like it is secured enough, and it will stay in place. Although its purpose seemed to be to remove/replace the retainer from the screw, I think there should have been a better way to do so using the "spanner" tool.

I will definitely use a different solution on my next job, since this is not something that can be done reliably by hand.

The experience is definitely worth the money
5/5

The Mossberg 500 had an issue with it, so I bought this to replace it. In addition to reading the instructions, it took about two minutes for it to be installed. Despite being very sturdy, it is still very mobile. This is one of my favorite books. All I have to complain about is the amount of time I waited before purchasing. Whenever I get a shotgun in the future I will certainly have it. A set of the same has also been given to my In addition to loving them, they also cherish them. Uncle Mike products have been a part of my life for over 20 years and I have never had a problem with any of them. Despite the delay, the product was in good condition when it arrived. If I ever need to order from the seller again, I would certainly do so.

The work was done as required
5/5

An application for a Mossberg 500 20ga Bantam Youth (camo pattern) was submitted. Despite the tight fit, everything worked out A hole was drilled in my rear extrusion when I got my stock I love how the swivel fits so well! In the case of the front, the tool had no problems getting it out. On the barrel there is a toothed thin washer that holds the bolt in place. As I attached the tool to the washer, I made sure the teeth of the tool latch onto the By slowly removing the bolt, I managed to get it Reversed the procedure to attach the new bolt with swivel point and it fit perfectly. Leave a gap between the bolt and the swivel point for the bolt to slide back and forth. The sling screwed right into the shotgun body with no problems.

I use this with a GI sling so that I can use the sling for stability. As I've mentioned, this is the second Uncle Mike's swivel set I've worked with, and this has likewise worked well.

I was able to use it with my Mossberg 500 12 GA shotgun perfectly
4/5

My magazine cap fit directly onto my gun as intended. There were several reviews that mentioned issues, but the fit was not an issue for me. There is no threaded or locknut design on the sling stud on the magazine cap on the gun, so you have to remove the sling to disassemble it. The magazine cap top would be much easier to remove with a pivoting stud, since it would allow the sling to be removed without having to remove the magazine cap top first.

I think it's pretty good overall, it My first purchase from Outdoor Connection was a swivel stud set
4/5

The design was better, but the stud left with a bevel at the top made it bind inside the lug on my 18 because of the bevel. The barrel of the HD5 is 5 inches long. A feature of that stud that Uncle Mike's stud doesn't have is the QD eyelet on it swivels freely. It was attached to a bolt through the middle of the main bolt to allow it to turn freely. With this one, the eyelet is screwed right into the center, so you may be able to unscrew it from the center of the bolt. The screw would have to be unscrewed quite a way for that to In addition to that, the other thing that I liked about the Outdoor Connection on compared to Uncle Mike's is that as others have commented. In comparison, Uncle Mike's is made in China, while the other is made in the U. S. I have to say, this sling installed in just a matter of minutes, it came with all the extras needed to make it work, and it seems to work just fine. I recommend it to anyone who wants a sling for.

I am telling you the truth
3/5

I like how it works, but it isn't too well made. Here is what you need to know. The sling swivels on Uncle Mike's rifle work perfectly, however, as others have indicated, the threads on the machine screw that goes into the barrel end of the rifle are very rough. The product was evidently not manufactured in a high-quality shop by someone who has a great deal of care. The threads are slightly burred, which is why they can interfere with threading at In my case, this was true. It matters not since the threads are of the right pitch and size, and they can be threaded. You definitely don't want to end up damaging the Mossberg hardware by forcing it to work (which you shouldn't, since Mossberg metal is much more robust). Therefore, I had to completely clean the threads of the gun so that it would not be damaged. By lightly running a triangle file along the threads, just enough to clean up the burrs and smooth out the metal, you can get the screw to screw in smoothly as it should have to begin with. This works, then. I like the way it works. There was a lot of dirt on it, and it needed some cleaning. As a result, I’ve taken 2 stars off, and I have an extra set of stars for another barrel I have for my 500S.
