Is it made from what material? Also, how big is the diameter of the D loop?

The diameter of that material is approximately 1/8 inch according to my measurement. It probably wouldn't support anything smaller than a bazooka or a bow. This is a 50 caliber firearm. I love it. Good quality was what I would describe the item as. There was no problem with price.

tiny bit of blue loctite if you need it. One loosened up a bit until I did. It's no longer possible for them to do so. I would recommend it to others.

I find it to be useful, as stated in the title. Particularly at the muzzle end of the rifle, I like the smaller profile "D" ring.
