It is a matter of personal preference how thick you want your cheek pads It is true that the thicker the pad, the more relief you'll receive from your sore cheekbones, but at the same time it changes your head position while you shoot. In general, people seem to prefer the 3/16 inch pad because it provides more cushion than the 1/8 inch, but it does not move you as much as the 1/4 inch pad.

This doesn't really affect the cheek welding much, and it works out well for my guns. It is especially beneficial when shooting a lot because your cheek bone is not as strained. The traps have not come off yet, but they have also only been used a few weekends, so it's hard to say if they are worth their price tag. If you have foam and a spray adhesive, you could make this for a fraction of the price.
As a consequence of the optical fusion not being as comfortable as my 18 inch 590, I bought this to align my eye with it. This pad does that just right, since I was pleasantly surprised to find that the gun seemed to kick less with this 1/8 thick pad. A bit too much height was achieved by the 50-shim, too little by the 55-shim. In my case, the 55 with the Kick Eze 1/8 pad was exactly what I needed to achieve the correct comb height.
I bought a Beretta gel cheek pad, but the adhesive on it was really thin and kept coming off at the edges, so I never even fired an arrow from Luckily, this one stays in place thanks to the alcohol pad it came with. As I said before, it isn't designed to be transferred from gun to gun like the Beretta, but that's not what I was looking for. I found it to be quite comfortable, and with the adjustable Beretta shims it could be fine tuned to get it roughly in the ballpark, but it wouldn't be perfect.
It's easy to set up. It was possible to trim to make it more comfortable. That looks good on my rifle and I don't feel as if I'm wearing a jerky I found it to be the most helpful on those cold days when my stock was composite and I found it to improve the cheek welds significantly.
My pad came as described, and I added it to another pad to get the height that I needed. Afterward, I decided to try it out at the range, and it worked perfectly. This allowed me to get a more accurate grouping with the two check pads and it was well worth the small cost.
With a 300 WSM cartridge, I mounted it on a Winchester Model 70 Coyote Lite. I took a few minutes to install it, it was just a peel and stick process. In the past, the rifle would cause your brain to pound as it recoiled. Let's move on to the cheeks It is always a pleasure to shoot with EEZ. The muzzle brake was also installed alongside it, but it's a great product in any case.
Using it for the majority of the summer and it is still going strong. To determine the pad thickness I used cardboard and painters tape to create a mock pad to help align my eye down the rib of my gun, which has a little more cast than I like. Adhesion is improved when the stock is thoroughly clean before applying. I am very satisfied with the product, and I will buy another one when this one breaks, which won't happen for quite some time.
This sealant adheres extremely well, in fact, we recommend waxing the stock first if you don't want to lift your finish when you remove it.
