The range of the Gen 2 isn't quite as extensive. When I'm sitting on the ground, I use the Gen 2. They share a lot of characteristics.
According to what I've read, the tree stand attachment is only compatible with monopods from the first and second generations. A threaded bolt would be needed in the bottom of the third-generation monopod, where the hard plastic is, and it would then thread into the tree stand base. So, if you're in Walmart or somewhere else with a 3rd Gen monopod, simply pull off the end at the base and look for a threaded bolt. Primos can also be reached directly.

When I first used the stick in the field, the bottom/lower section of the stick came completely off because the glue was apparently not properly sealed. So I tried out my wife's new Gen 3 trigger stick, and the same thing happened when I used it. The Botton section was glued incorrectly once more. I can't imagine the same thing happening twice in a row unless there's a problem with the glue. Over the years, I've owned five Trigger Sticks and given a few as gifts to friends - Moreover, none of the older models have ever failed in the field and have been able to withstand years of abuse. My "new" and "improved" Gen 3 Trigger Sticks aren't reliable, so I reclaimed my old sticks from my kids. The new model has left me very disappointed!.

In August of 2019, I purchased this item. It hasn't even been taken out of the garage yet. When I was going over my gear for the year, I noticed that the monopod had broken apart. Because it appears that this is a common defect, I decided to take another reviewer's advice and simply epoxy it myself with better product and coverage. Keep a close eye on yours and make sure it's in good working order. I would have been furious if this had happened while I was trying to make a shot.
I like that I can now adjust it with just one hand, rather than balancing my gun or setting it down while adjusting my stick. br>br>I also like the locking feature, though it would be nice if it were a little easier to lock with one hand. Very quiet operation, hasn't spooked any game yet, and provides excellent shooting stabilization. Make sure you read the product description thoroughly, as I ordered the incorrect one the first time because it was the shorter one; don't make the same mistake I did, despite Amazon's excellent return policy.
This was my first time using the trigger stick, and it cost me a shot. I'm sure it was just bad luck, because I have the bi-polar disorder. This is the pod version, and it works perfectly.
Over- all - This is a nice product, and I bought it to use with my camera. I chose this in the hopes of avoiding creep with the trigger release. I thought I was on to something at first. Unfortunately, the camera's weight (approximately 3lbs) will cause the lower portion to sag. br>br>The document is divided into two parts. When the trigger is depressed, the lower section must be manually pulled down, while the upper section will drop automatically. It would have been ideal if both sections had done so, but this isn't a deal-breaker. br>br>As previously mentioned - Overall, this is a good product; however, you should be aware that it may creep up on you slowly.
This is my third Trigger Stick; I have two Monopods and one Tripod. Durability is mediocre at best (although I did damage my first monopod, which was not due to Primos). As long as you have a receipt, customer service is fine. My Tripod was purchased in a local store, and I did not keep the receipt. It began to have issues about ten months after purchase, and Primos was of no assistance. Primos refused my request to purchase a replacement leg. I had to look up a repair procedure on YouTube. It turns out that I was not alone in having this problem. If you don't plan on going hunting or exposing them to the elements, these products will suffice. I would suggest using a different product if you plan on taking them hunting.
This was purchased for deer season's first weekend. I took the item out of the package, pulled the trigger to extend the monopod, and it simply split in half. I never got a chance to use it because it was broken before I even got a chance to use it. I contacted the manufacturer, who requested that I send it in for repair rather than receiving a replacement, with a three-week turnaround time. What a pain. br>br>With this Gen 3 monopod, I unquestionably received a faulty product. I already own a taller version of the Gen 2 monopod, which is still in excellent working order.
