A heavy rifle is not recommended
3/5

It was the wrong bipod for my Ruger Precision 338, as it was too heavy to handle the rifle's weight. No matter how hard I tried, the tension knob would simply not tighten enough for the rifle to roll left to If the legs were fully extended, then there would be too much flex at 1000 yards, and that isn't conducive to shooting at that distance. This bipod would work better for smaller assault rifles like the AR15 just fine.

The work I do does not require precision rifles
3/5

I've been a Magpul fan and supporter for many years, but this offering is not for me. That is not the case for precision applications. This rifle was intended to be mounted on a Magpul Hunter 700 stock with Remington 700 rounds. Here are the two major issues 1) Too much slop between As soon as one is locked down, there is a lot of backward motion It's time for the play to begin. Normally there would be some play in the action, but this is just wobbling and requires too much forward tension to stabilize.

2) The locking knob will not fully lock off the tilt. No matter how tight, the rifle can still be tilted easily. I am very pleased with the overall craftsmanship of the bi-fold. This pod is good, and what I expect from Magpul, but it has two design flaws that will not hold up in the field when shooting in the real world. I certainly would not pay this kind of price.

This is something that I really wanted to like, but I can't
3/5

It was a pleasure to purchase the Ruger Precision. The mounting stud for a Harris bipod was limited to the threads of the stud itself (but that's another story). The 300 Win Mag I had was a Ruger 300 Win Mag, and I was shocked at Ruger's design. The weight of the rifle and the recoil I expect it to generate made me realize a more robust bipod was needed. Ones with direct M-to-M connections were specifically on my list With a nice QD lever, you can mount a QD with a LOK mount or a Picatinny mount. There are dozens of options available to me as I explore my options. There appeared to be mostly inexpensive ones or those that cost more than $200, with a lot of negative reviews on the lower end products. As a result of weighing all my choices, I decided to go with the Magpul bipod, even though there were a number of I chose this option because it seemed to have what I wanted, without what I didn't want (no need to swivel or tilt when shooting target from I was very excited when it arrived two days later and was very eager to get it installed, which was easy, as most M-P-S products are The accessories for the Lok system. As soon as I entered the room, I was taken aback by two things. In the first place, I was impressed with how much play there is when the legs are snapped in There is a very real possibility of it rocking more than an inch backwards and forwards. A second thing that surprised me was how much the legs flexed when it was holding the weight of this heavy rifle resting on them. Despite being made of polymer, the bipod flexes quite a bit in its main frame. Though I am aware that polymers can expand and contract, the flexing I've seen is so extreme that it seems imminent that they will fail. It is not okay for my bipod to break from the recoil of a shot, resulting in my rifle falling to the ground. This is a feeling that I am sure everyone shares. What is worse is that both of these problems are the results of poor design and/or cheap materials. should have been aware, when prototyping their leg design, that they have too much play in them, not providing the stable base that Before they went into full production, the bug should have been worked out. This would not have fixed the other issue with my heavy gun, but the product might be well suited for lighter firearms such as AR rifles and even lighter rifles aimed at precision. One of the biggest fixes would be to use aluminum or steel for the center frame. A small amount of aluminum would have added little weight to the product and would have reduced the profit margin for the product, but they would have had a much better product and would have received much more positive The description or specs of this product probably need to contain limits on how much weight it can support. The product might break if it carries more weight than this. I hope this review has been of some help to This item will be returned to you.

I advise you not to buy this! The number of 5 stars is really surprising to me The bipod has a lot of 5-star reviews
3/5

That is why I believe there is a dearth of experienced shooters who are It's no secret I have always been a Magpul fan, and I plan to purchase more products from this company. While out shooting, you can use this bipod to maintain the targets in the back of the truck so the wind does not blow them off. After carefully removing the bipod from the rifle, you can place it on the tailgate to stop the wind from blowing them off. Using the Harris is a great alternative if the Atlas is not within your budget range. In the shooting position, there is a lot of play in the legs of this bipod. I am looking for a bipod with a stable rest, and this product does not provide one.

I found that it works
5/5

In reading any of the reviews, and there are many, you'll find complaints that are repetitious A lot of things go wrong with it it wobbles, it's plastic, so on. In my opinion, it was similar to when auto makers stopped making metal dashboards and began using plastics. It wasn't just people in the 1970s who whined. The new dashboard didn't matter if it was safer, or if it was better, or even if it had more features, Things weren't the same as they used to be. We are now in the present. The last time I used a bipod, it was too It used to be that all bipods were made of Spring-like contraptions like something from a steampunk If you get your hands smeared with blood because you closed a metal bipod the wrong way, you have a problem. It's literally true. Magpul is here to help. Bipods can no longer be compared to what they used to be. The polymer is light weight (not plastic), and there are Other metal bipods have extra features that come with other models in addition to the standard features. These legs are more advanced than the metal bipods made in the 1930s that are common In this essay we will look at the "faults" that those who hate to evolve and accept technological advancements have repeatedly repeated I don't know what to do with it. The answer is no. You can use a bipod without it being wobbly if you know how to USE it properly. You'll have no trouble with a bipod if you load it correctly (and if you don't know what that means, don't buy a bipod). It was built this way so that you can properly load the bipod with the "wobble". The use of too much plastic is a problem. I should point out that it is NOT plastic. It is Magpul's proprietary polymer. They are made of the same polymer as their stocks, magazines, and grips. They are praised by everyone, but only those who use the polymer as their base find fault with it. While metal is used where it's needed, because it's different, it's too modern, purists refuse to adapt they want to use the same bipod they started using in the 70s. We are no longer living in those days. It's likely that those who hate this product are nostalgic for the good ol' days, when they grabbed their devices and listened to their pagers and flip phones only for I am 60 years old, so for those who are thinking I am a young'n whining about the old folks, you should know that I am As far as I'm concerned, I'm not a youngster. I don't fear technology at all, however. As promising as it may seem back then, the good ol' days were far from There was a time when things were better. Readers of the negative comments are advised to ignore These people have no idea what they are talking about. By choosing a reputable company in the USA for your MODERN bipod is a wise move.
