Questions & Answers

Is it safe for wood, despite the fact that it says it's safe for rubber and plastic?

It has not caused me any problems.

Is this gentle on the wood, or do you need to take extra precautions?

This is something I've used for a long time, especially with the wipes. There is an evaporating carrier in the spray. I haven't noticed any deterioration of the wood, but I do make sure to wipe it off.

In a tide-fed salt water swamp where it always rains, I use my gun for fowl hunting. Is it safe to use this product in those circumstances?

For 42 years, I lived in Houston and used my shotgun gun in some of the hottest and most humid conditions imaginable. We would go without air conditioning or dehumidifiers for up to 11 days after hurricanes. Some of my guns would go three or four years without being fired. It's incredible that this product has kept me from getting even a speck of rust. If I could, I would give it six stars.

Is it possible to use this on a gun that has been blued?

Barricade is compatible with both blued and stainless steel firearms. That's why it's there - to keep the metal safe from corrosion I've been using the product for more than 30 years, and it's fantastic.

This is fantastic material
5/5

For all of my firearms, I've switched to this stuff. My gunsmith, who has worked in the industry for over 40 years, highly recommends it. That's all I need. I liberally apply it (it's the only liberal aspect of my personality).

Keep an eye on those guns! Barricade has been a part of my life for over 25 years
5/5

It's effective at keeping guns in good working order for a long time. I use it as if it were free long-term storage without fear of rust. br>br>I relocated from Colorado's dry mountain climate to the Pacific Northwest, where the winters are very wet and humid. Barricade is ideal for a quick wipe-down of the guns in the safe that aren't used very often. I squirt a generous amount onto a soft rag and rub it all over the gun's exterior. I'll just spray the entire gun and wipe the excess off every now and then. I'll also use it to swab the bores and spray it inside the actions. It effectively prevents rust and corrosion. Neither wood nor synthetics are harmed. br>br> There are fancier and more expensive products on the market, but nothing works as well as Barricade.

I'm a firm believer in the power of positive thinking
5/5

Ballistol seemed to me to be the best way to keep guns and gear in good shape. No way, I'm not interested. It doesn't do much to prevent rust. My reloading dies and tools were kept in a climate-controlled room with desiccant packets to keep them dry. Before touching my dies, I washed and dried my hands to ensure that I had as little or no oil on me as possible. I fully embraced the ocd, but Ballistol failed to protect my gear from rust, despite the fact that I do not live in a particularly humid/salty climate. br>br>Then I heard about Barricade and Rig and decided to give them a shot. I buy cans of the stuff and use it on any gun, tool, magazine, or other metal I own, and there hasn't been a speck of corrosion since. br>br>I stripped my Marlin 1895 down to the last screw and blasted every surface and corner I could find. Because we were relocating, we decided to put her up for a few months. After finally hitting the range, I dismantled her to inspect her, and she was minty fresh as can be. Thank you for producing such a wonderful product.

ANYTHING that can rust should be treated with it
5/5

I bought some of this a long time ago. Mostly to keep my firearms safe. It did such a good job of preventing rust on them that I started using it on anything else that I thought might rust, including the tools in the garage, which WILL rust if exposed to enough time, humidity, and temperature changes. And when I say tools, I mean ALL tools, including miter saws, drill presses, and portable battery-powered tools. Milwaukee power tools, such as rakes, shovels, chainsaws, crowbars, knives, handsaws, and chisels, are available! This stuff is sprayed on everything that has the slightest chance of rusting; it's the best money I've ever spent to protect anything that can rust!.

In a pinch, this is extremely useful

I keep a couple of these in the rifle case when I don't want to bring a full cleaning kit to the range. They're incredibly simple to use, and a single wipe will clean an entire rifle. Even on hot and wet days, I haven't noticed any rust, so they must work as advertised.

I protect myself from rust
5/5

Because I ride my three-wheel bike to the store, I use this product to ensure that the sprocket chain that drives the rear axle is in good working order. The condition of the back tires is maintained over time. To avoid staining the concrete, place newspaper on the area where you'll be spraying. Because I don't have a car, ordering this product online is convenient. To avoid brake failure, cover your rear brake disc with tape before spraying. It should last for a long time.

GREAT STUFF, GREAT STUFF, GREAT STUFF, GREAT STUFF, GREAT STUFF, Old lawn mower blades are used to make knives
5/5

After I finish, they begin to rust the next day. When I was re-introduced to Barricade, I was pleasantly surprised. My old 22 rifle is getting a new coat of paint. I figured I'd give it a shot with my kitchen knives. BOOM! No more rust; if a blade gets wet, simply wipe it dry. NO MORE AIR RUST PROBLEMS! I've been doing it on mine for at least six months, and I've done it on all of my kitchen knives as well; just don't put them in the dishwasher.

This was not a novel concept
3/5

I bought a Barricade can that had been used previously. It wasn't packaged in a factory-sealed bag. It was only a smidgeon taped up. As far as I'm concerned, this is a used can of fluid whose contents I have no idea about. To make matters worse, there's this: There is no way to return this item! I guess I'll have to live with it!.
