The Lee . There is a "taper crimp" on 45 Carbide dies. The . A roll crimp would mess up the 45 ACP headspace on the mouth of the cartridge.
I have no idea what you're referring to. I've only been using Lee 4- for a while now. Set of dies for all of my pistol calibers, from 9 to 44 magnum, including the 40S. After a few thousand rounds through my Glocks, I haven't had any issues.
Yes. For my Rossi R92 rifle chambered in the, I used this set for over 1000 rounds. There were no problems with any of the rounds in the 45 Long Colt.

After reading all of the positive reviews, I decided to give the Lee carbide dies a try for loading 380acp. I was especially interested in giving them a try because of the low price they were selling for on Amazon. They worked so well in my press that I was pleasantly surprised. When I need to load something new, I will most certainly purchase the dies again. I hope this information proves useful in making a decision.
Now there's a 45 ACP. 44 Mag. I've always been happy with the quality, and this new set was no exception. You can't beat these for the money, in my opinion. The factory crimp die is fantastic, as a side note! For the first time, I received one. Then there's 40, and then there's. 223 I now have them in all calibers. When loading bulk brass with mixed headstamps, the fact that it can accommodate slight variations in case length is extremely useful. In 9mm, I shoot a lot of volume, and the FCD has never failed me. For . 44 mag, I found it to do a fantastic job of crimping with just a little bit of case length variation. This is critical because a strong crimp keeps the bullet in place during moderate recoil while also ensuring proper powder burn. With a weak crimp, the magnum primers may pop the bullet out of the case before the powder has a chance to get a good start, resulting in an unusual pressure spike. Ensure that your is crimped. 44 magnification is excellent!.
40 S& W) because on my turret press, I planned to use one die for the Lee Bulge Buster kit and the powder through die with the Lee auto drum powder measure. Instead of buying those dies separately and another set for the press, I thought I was getting a two-for-one deal. That was not the case. It doesn't take long to figure out that the De- The capping/sizing die was not perfectly centered. That is something I will never use! However, the die set is inexpensive, and I already have the other two I require, as well as a spare seating die that I know I will never use. 40 S& W isn't a difficult case, and I have no plans to compete with it, so I didn't see the point in investing in expensive dies. br> Since then, I've ordered a set of Lyman dies (cheaper versions of Reddings). They also came with finger tightening rings, which I found odd. They're stiff, but they're not particularly secure. They were missing their special wrench, which was required! When I was looking for a wrench, I came across a set of split ring wrenches that were nearly identical except for the split ring and a screw to tighten/lock them in place. Using an allen wrench with a 3/32 inch drive. br> I haven't ordered the Powder Drum or the Bulge Buster Kit yet because I'm afraid I'll get sick of Lee! Although the APP Press appeared to be interesting, it was made up of plastic parts and. For processing all of this, I have a good pair of Harrell's presses, both turret and single stage, but they are a little slower. I've been churning out 40 fodder. To sum it up: Because of poor design and quality control, some parts are rendered useless.
They were ready to use right out of the box. It's a good thing it came with the die for sizing it to factory specs because it came in handy on several of my reloads. I expect them to last a long time, especially considering how much reloading I'll be doing. The only criticism I have of the set is that the die markings do not always appear to correspond to the purpose of the die. To figure out which die is which, you must first look at the picture, then the dies. It's called something in the documentation, and the stampings on the side don't match in any way that I can tell. When it comes to full-length sizers, I have other dies that have something similar to FLS. I haven't been able to figure out what the codes mean so far. I realize it's a minor detail, but aside from the die that also decaps the case, I wasn't sure I had the correct die until after the first use. Two of the dies appear to be very similar, and if you're not careful, you could easily set them up in the wrong order.
While Lee has a bad reputation, I believe they produce some fantastic dies. br>br>I have a Dillon 550 and these fit perfectly. I'd still be using my Lee Turret, which I believe I was faster on, but my mother storing it in the shed while I was away from home allowed rust to set in, to the point where I gave up trying to free it. br>br>When it comes to pistols, the Carbide Die Set is the way to go. It saves time and effort by eliminating the need for lube during the re-lubrication process. sizing. br>br>The Dies are set and forget, but you'll need to tighten them up a little after a few hundred rounds unless you use thread locker on the threads. Although the amount is small, I believe it was after 400 hundred rounds that drift became noticeable. a single inch It's not much for target shooting, but it can make a difference if you're trying to get to the maximum or shortest overall length. Unless I'm using precision loads for my rifles, I aim for the middle so that a little drift doesn't hurt (literally or metaphorically!). HA! It might be better if the locking nut or the ring for the bullet seater die had a set screw. br>br>These are good enough that I use Lee Dies on my press for everything.
Lee Dies are my favorite and I almost always buy them. I'm hoping that these dies will also work out. I've never had a problem with it and appreciate the crimp die that comes with it. I deducted a star because of Sportsman Supply's shoddy and unforgivable packaging. The dies were rolled around in the cardboard shipping box after being removed from the plastic container. Scuffs and scratches were visible on a couple of them. I examined them carefully and believe they will work fine; all that was needed to keep movement at bay was a few pieces of tape on the plastic box or some packing pillows or paper in the box. Without a doubt, careless packing.
