You could, but because it contains oil, too much could make your grip slick.
Because it is a solvent-based product to clean carbon build-up, I would not recommend using it on any rubber seals! CLP removes contaminates from the bore such as firing residue.

One was in a transparent bottle, while the other was in a black opaque bottle. I attempted to use the CLP from the opaque bottle (the one that corresponds to all of the product's web images). That container's product appears to be effective. The other bottle, on the other hand, was still a source of concern for me. Nearly a month ago, I contacted Hoppe's Product Support to see if the bottle had been redesigned or if I had received a fake. (The last thing you want when maintaining a firearm is a phony cleaning product. ) After not receiving a response from their online support, I called and spoke with one of the Bushnell representatives. The Bushnell representative said he'd call Hoppe's and get back to me. It's been more than a week since that happened. No call has been made yet. Rather than using their own reps for this function, I believe the Bushnell company would benefit from staffing their Hoppe's support line with Hoppe's staff who are actually familiar with the product line.

I bought this to use on my bore snake when cleaning my handguns; just a few drops on the snake cleans the gun thoroughly. Add a couple of drops to a q-tip as well. Cleaning the side rails is a good idea.
I bought it specifically for use with my bore snake because I thought it would be easier to work with because it was a little thicker than a liquid. Personally, I'm glad I went ahead and bought it.
Unfortunately, one of the lids had a hairline crack in it, and one of them spilled all over my floor because I didn't notice until it was too late. The other one has a similar issue, but I was able to solve it by wrapping it in electrical tape and tying paper towels around it, so nothing leaks out when I tilt it. However, I've been using this product for quite some time and highly recommend it. I simply would not purchase it from Amazon.
It also gives the barrel a nice finish. I've used it on all of my gun's metal parts and it's worked great. The product has a strong odor, but it dissipates after a few minutes of use on my gun. Although the odor may turn some people off, I enjoy the product and will continue to use it as a lubricant and protector.
Although it is a bit pricey, I have been using Hoppe products for over 50 years, so why not? It appears to work well with my ARs and a "snake" at the range next to my house (20 acres, trees, 200m x 20m, eat your hearts out).
Back in the 1970s, I used to target shoot. This was the cleaning and oiling procedure that was recommended. To sling the job, you'll need a fluid. I've decided to restart target practice. After so many years, her gun bores are spotless.
