Hello, Kevbr>20 1/4 inches is the diagonal measurement. It might fit if you have a Winchester 1897 that has been taken down and has a shorter barrel. It's possible that an AR pistol will work. Are you planning on storing your firearm in the box or using it as part of a GO bag? Because if you're looking for a GO bag, the Advanced Special Operations bag from RE Factor Tactical is a great option. It can easily accommodate a broken-down M4.

I shoot a lot and buy in bulk, so I needed a way to keep my ammo dry and protected from the elements. I wasn't sure if it would hold up to 85 pounds at first. I was able to fit approximately 2000 rds of 7 into the space available. It was loaded with 62x39 ammo and was lifted, carried, and shook without breaking. I was blown away by what I saw. I am not 100% on the seal if it is "air tight" but I believe it will be ok, especially when others are stacked on it. This is not a "combat" ready box, and I'm sure it would break if you threw it off a truck or dropped it, but it's perfect for storing things in the basement, and it has the ability to be locked. I'm going to buy a few more of them. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I have six of these and have completely filled them. I loaded it with over 2,000 rounds of 9 mm ammo and it lifts fine; I wouldn't take it too far, but it shows no signs of breaking despite the fact that it weighs close to 85 pounds. Very nice and secure (yes, it is plastic, so anyone with enough time can get into the box). They can, however, do so with any other available box. This is an effective deterrent. This was purchased to replace two smaller MTM ACR4-based MTM ACR4-based MTM ACR4-based MTM ACR4 18 was one of my favorites, but it required four padlocks in total, rather than two for this one. br>br>As the dimensions for 223 are well chosen, this one fits a lot. I was able to load 2500 rounds into this ACR5-II using a mix of 100 and 20 round boxes. br>br>The internal height is the only reason I gave four instead of five stars: 5" vs 4. 8 inches in the ACR4- It may not appear to be much, but that extra 0 is significant. 3" allows you to stack 100 round boxes in two-column rows and close the lid with ease. In this one, I could still do it, but closing the lid will take some effort. br>br>Because 223 is the most popular centerfire round and 100 round boxes take up the least amount of space, Making the internal height just a smidge higher would have made it easier to pack these boxes with the space available. br>br>However, for 223, it's still a great storage crate.
For my Gen 1 Kawasaki KLR650, I'm using this box as a luggage rack box. It fits better than the majority of the other boxes I've come across. I'm currently carrying around 40 pounds of tools, a first-aid kit, fishing tackle, and my St. Croix fishing machine, as well as a few other odds and ends.
These crates are one of my favorite things in the world. Three of them were purchased. I needed a lighter and less expensive alternative to traditional metal ammo cans (. 30, . 50, fat . 50's). I believe they are particularly useful for storing ammo that isn't densely packed (e. g. ,. 50 caliber). Remington green and white shotgun shells Fiocchi 10 rnd boxes (no. 223, fiocchi). They stack nicely and appear to be well-built. They're completely waterproof, which is exactly what I'm looking for. You will not be disappointed if you purchase some.
- I was able to fit a total of 18 standard sized (2. 25 round boxes (75in / 12ga) in it without damaging any boxes, squeezing, or bending anything Yes, when loaded this way, there is a small gap in front or back. I'd rather keep 18 boxes undamaged in a crate than squeeze, bend, and engineer another two into it.
- I also had no trouble fitting (40) Fiocchi 10 round shell boxes (00 buck/ 4 buck/ slugs). They fit snugly but do not require any squeezing or damage to do so. I was able to easily fit the boxes in by standing them up on their ends.
- They are still manageable and man portable when fully loaded with either ammunition.
- In comparison to a metal. 50 In the can, I was able to fit (19) fiocchi/10 round boxes, whereas I can fit (40) in one of these. I intend to purchase more, and you should as well; you will not be disappointed.
Well-made, reasonably priced, and surprisingly durable. The best way to store shotgun ammunition is in this device. Period. I'll be purchasing more in the future.
This ammunition box is fantastic! I bought this because I was tired of using the smaller ammo boxes for my 12GA ammunition; while they are easy to move around, having so many is a pain. When I came across this, I was about to go out and buy some more of the smaller cans. br>br>Upon closer inspection, I was pleasantly surprised to discover a thick rubber seal around the seam, which should help keep moisture out. I almost completely filled mine with 25 round boxes, leaving a gap at the end that you could fill with another 5 round boxes, but I prefer to put 2x 20 gram packets of silica desiccant, which may be overkill for this small space, but I like redundancy! br>br>As for the stickers and labels, they can be peeled off fairly easily; you may need to use the adhesive on the sticker to remove what's left on the box, but that's not a big deal. I prefer the cases to be "incognito" because I don't want to draw attention to the contents when they're in the car or garage.
This is the ideal size for all five of my children. The total number of rounds is 56. Love it. I'm going to need a lot more of these.
