Battery is difficult to come by! This battery was purchased to replace a dead battery in an old garage door opener

The opener was not functional with the original square battery, and it was not functional with this new battery. I don't think it's the battery's fault. This is the only place I was able to locate this old-fashioned typewriter. 505/221A 22-style battery 5 Volt. Some may find it useful to know that the original version of this batter was square and long. It's a circular one. I suppose the best advice I could give is to make sure your item doesn't require a square shape. I don't see why it matters as long as the battery is kept in contact with the terminals in the battery compartment.

The battery appeared to be the right size and voltage, but there was a problem. I wasn't sure if it worked because when I went deeper to open up the meter, I discovered a slew of issues. The circuit board, as well as other plastic pieces that hold things together, were cracked, indicating that it had been dropped. I haven't given up hope, but there will be a lot of work involved if it can be fixed. As a result, I am unable to provide an accurate battery answer at this time.
