When you release the spoon, will the striker assembly snap down?

Yes, the striker snaps down on the old primer as if it were brand new, and yes, the user can reset it. Some people will use a trip wire system to replace the fired primer with a new Fresh primer and use it as a perimeter alarm. They can be reused numerous times.

Is it possible to use primers instead of primers in a trip wire alarm?

Yes, by inserting a new 209 primer, you can use the trip wire alarm multiple times. 209 shotgun primers can be found in almost any sporting goods or gun store.

The heads are 2" long by 1" wide when the tube is still attached. 3/8" x 5/8" x 1/8" x 1/8" x 1/8" x Of course, the spoons are a little longer than the head and body.

These are great for security alarms, but you'll need to drill them out if you want to use a different cap, like a 22 blank, that will stay in place regardless of the object's orientation.
