I also use these as perimeter alarms. Simply cut out the steam drill center 5/16, drop in a shotgun shell primer cap, set the spring in place, and watch it work.
No, you'll need to drill out the primer seat if you want to use primers with these. They used some kind of weld to fill it in.
Hondo1970 is a successful seller.
Thank you for getting in touch. When you purchase one from Rhame Publishers, it is already "cocked," meaning it is ready to throw the spoon when the pin is pulled. You'll almost certainly figure out how to "re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re "Cock" the action, as it were. It's possible to repeat this process indefinitely. We can also give you instructions on how to use these heads as signaling devices.

It arrived two days earlier than expected and is exactly what I ordered, so if I set it up properly, it will wake me up and hopefully scare the bear away at the same time. All I have to do now is drill them out for a shotgun primer and figure out how to secure them to a tree. I'll give it a try to see how well it works and then post an update. I'm very pleased!.
If you want to use the spoons as a perimeter alarm, do so. The pin is in direct contact with the hammer without the spoons, making pulling it out twice as difficult. Use a string or cable attached to the spoon and the head to keep the spoon from flying into the next county, but leave enough room for it to fly away. br> All of the parts I received were in excellent condition and functioned correctly.
The grenade fuze, spoon, pin, and safety clip were all exactly what I expected from a legit military surplus item. Everything is in excellent working order and appears to be of the highest quality. The hammer and spring inside work flawlessly; I'm very happy with my purchase and would order it again if necessary.
I made a few changes to it to make it work for me.
The pictures showed four heads and a few spools of trip wire, but all I got was one head, a spoon, and a grenade pin. It was not worth ten dollars for a single head. If I'd known it was less than a quarter of what I thought I was paying for, I wouldn't have purchased kt.
I bought the heads that were already drilled for 209 primers, but one of them was drilled so far off that the primer wouldn't set off. As a result, I strongly advise you to do it on your own. br>br>I contacted the seller, Hondo, and he insisted on paying for return shipping; it's not worth it to spend $5 to get $5 back. I'll see what I can do about it.
I didn't buy these to repair inert grenades; instead, I planned to use them as perimeter alarms. One of them hasn't done any work. I had higher hopes for these grenade tops, but I guess the springs aren't as strong as they once were.
He meant what he said when he said he'd bore them out if they told him ahead of time when they were buying the product. I'd make another purchase.
