The original screw is still in use by me. I used Permatex brand medium threadlocker to install my SwissQlip. Then I tightened the screw, taking special care not to overtighten it. After a long period of use, Certainly, there has been some mistreatment. It's still in good shape; I believe the cheap screw serves as a convenient weak link, preventing the knife from being damaged. My SwissQlip-equipped knife is my daily carry, and I use it frequently at work. So far, the screw hasn't broken.

I don't believe that opening it will make things worse. Any 91mm Victorinox thicker than two layers, in my opinion, is too bulky for my tastes. Just to be clear. I use a two-layer model for the SwissQlip. No hook. My three-layer models are kept in a belt sheath with no clip.

Aside from that, excellent. If it worked on all of my 91mm Victorinox knives, I'd give it five stars. Unfortunately, it isn't compatible with the knife I'd like to carry with me all the time. In the short week I carried it with the clip, I almost lost my Multitool several times due to the loose fit. In an attempt to mount it, I stripped the screw. Has nearly perfected my EDC!I used to carry a SAK but stopped because I kept losing it. I went to a Leatherman Charge Tti, but the SAK tweezers, pin, and scissors were not included. With the pocket clip, you can now carry a SAK explorer and a Leatherman Skeletool (you'll need the three screwdrivers - see below).
