Questions & Answers

Is the blade equipped with a thumb stud on both sides? I'd like to double-check that this works for left-handed people. opening with one hand ?

Yes. My copy is right next to me, and it does indeed have thumb studs on both sides. Despite the fact that it is the cheapest knife I own, I carry it with me on a daily basis! This is an excellent EDC knife.

What country did they come from?

It's all right in China.

Is the blade made of what type of steel? Model 8700 (8cr13mov) composition, or something else (e.g., , 420HC)?

The blade is made of 8cr13mov.

how much do you weigh?

It was a gift for someone, but I can't say who it was for. But there is one thing I can tell you. It was a nice knife for the miney, and it was very light. I'd buy more!

The blade release needs to be redesigned, but the knife itself is nice
3/5

I purchased two of these, and they are identical. Overall, it's a nice little knife that comes sharp and works well. br>br>My only gripe is with the blade release lever. The lever is too small for me to use my thumb to operate it. Pushing them also takes some effort. If you don't have fingernails to catch the release, you'll have to push it down with a coin. It wouldn't have hurt if this had been a little wider. Put it away from the rest of your knives. br>br>I spoke with Kershaw about it. Why did I buy it if I didn't like this feature? asked the person I spoke with, who was essentially rude. The idea of making an online purchase and not knowing what you're getting until you get it seemed to escape her. They demanded that I pay to have them returned so that they could look into my complaint. They'd get back to you in eight days. 12 weeks. Why would I, or anyone else, do such a thing? They had no idea what to say to me. br>br>I own a large number of Kershaw knives. This is the first one I've disliked, and I'm going to look into their other designs before purchasing another.

This is the ideal "girlfriend knife
5/5

" This is the ideal "girlfriend knife. " If you're having trouble persuading your girlfriend that she needs a pocketknife for things like backpacking Isle Royale, get her a shuffle. My girlfriend received a purple one, while my mother (who is also a backpacker) received a teal one. Both of their reactions were the same: interested woman who doesn't usually think much of pocketknives Wow, that's impressive. It's so cute, which it most certainly is, but it also appears to be a perfectly adequate pocketknife: the blade, pivot, and other components all appear to be sturdy, and it's easy to hold. The bottle opener is a bit gimmicky, but what the heck, why not? It's not like it makes the knife bulkier or less functional in any way, and beer-drinking ladies (or gents; I'm not saying this knife is *only* for ladies; I'm just saying it appeals to them) will probably get a lot of use out of it. When my girlfriend thought she'd misplaced it while backpacking in the Badlands, she was devastated. I told her not to worry about it because, at less than $20, this knife is also ideal for those who are. to put it another way: Are you having trouble keeping track of your belongings? (It was later discovered attached to her pack. ) This isn't a $400 knife with flawless craftsmanship, but it's ideal for those looking for something that doesn't look "weapon-like. " y" and don't want to lose any sleep if it's accidentally dropped in a bison-shaped hole. pie.

Buy it if you're looking for your first knife or simply want a good beater
4/5

Just wanted to say that after three years of use as an everyday knife in a first responder's pocket, it has proven to be a great place to start when it comes to carrying a small knife with good ergonomics and modest steel. The advantages are that it is lightweight, easy to open with a thumb and flick, and simple to close with one hand. From the box to three years later, everything was silky smooth. It maintains a good edge for a few weeks but is still useful for months. I just upgraded to a knife made of VG10 steel in the hopes of getting a better edge and keeping it for longer. br>br>After this long, the cons alignment shifts to one side a little, but not enough to rub. Spring assistance is a give-and-take situation, depending on the user. The only issue I had was with the clip. I tightened it five times as hard as I could before putting some lock tight in the screw threads, and it's been rock solid ever since. br>br>In conclusion, if you need a small knife to open boxes, gut deer, or shred seatbelts in a car accident, this little dandy will suffice. Can you get a better knife with better steel made in America for $200 that does the same thing? However, for less than $20, it's hard to beat a pocket knife made of chrome moly steel.

When all you need is the tip of a knife, why carry a full-size knife? This small knife can be used for 90 of every day tasks
4/5

Despite its diminutive size, the blade is often all that is required. The handle is unnoticeable in your pocket due to its light weight and small size. I have a surplus of Despite my large hands, I can wrap four fingers around the handle/finger-rest. grips. br>br>I have one stipulation for a knife: it must be sharp. It must be 100% operational in one hand (opening and closing in one hand ). It is possible to operate with only one hand, but it is extremely difficult. br>br>Down- side - The action is very stiff and tense! Quite constrained – very rigid! (Are you paying attention, Kershaw? ) The action was so stiff that I had to rework it myself to loosen it up and smooth out the sharp edge on the release lever. I would have returned the form as defective if I didn't like it so much. because it takes a lot of force to stop the release! Maybe it'll loosen up after a few years of use, or maybe I'll grow a massive callus on my finger that will allow me to use the knife one-handed. Or I could take the knife apart and grind some relief into the release spring. Kershaw, what are you talking about?.

Without a doubt, EDCable
5/5

First and foremost, think about how much you're not paying. Having said that, I'm not disappointed in the least, but this isn't a high-end Kershaw. The knife is solidly constructed, with meticulous attention to detail. It's about the same size as a Spyderco Dragonfly, but it's not nearly as heavy. The Shuffle is much heavier than the Dragonfly and has liners. The pocket clip is great because it sits low in the pocket and has enough room to be removed and returned with one hand. The blade was perfectly centered and razor-sharp enough to shave the hair off my arm from the box. The packaging isn't great, but it wasn't broken, and who cares about a box? I haven't put it through its paces to see how well it retains its edge, but it's Chinese steel, so as long as the heat treatment is done properly, it should be adequate for EDC knife tasks. I was worried that the bottle opener on this model would be uncomfortable to use because of the blade design, but it doesn't stand out at all. It's just like a Victorinox cap lifter when it comes to functionality. The screwdriver, on the other hand, isn't particularly good and is unlikely to be useful. Because of the good build quality and reasonable price, I would recommend this knife. I intend to purchase additional colors as well as the updated model.
