Plastic base is fine and well crafted, and the pin is sharp and well It's the reflective stickers that are the problem. There are a lot of misplaced, missing, and fallen off pieces. It may just peel off when you try to push them in but the sticker is lightly glued on. I found 2 pins without reflective stickers on them in my pack. There was no difference between the two brands I used (the ones I did use did work at night, but out of 50 I had 10 that didn't work).
The vendor promised shipping would take longer than expected, but I didn't receive the goods until the end of the week. Even with a variety of different colored lights (I typically use a dimly lit red LED light when walking my trails on nights without moonlight), the product works as expected. This product was only inert because some of the reflective stickers were not centered on the pins (I would have liked it better if my 4yr old had stuck the sticker on more centered) and some of the pin heads would break off when you pushed them into hardwood trees.
The dimensions of a thumb tack are 0. 78 x 0. 38 x 0. 41 inches. The tacks were much bigger than I expected. In the daylight, you would not notice them. At night, they may reflect some light with a flashlight, but they are so small that they are not noticeable. It was irrelevant for the purposes I was planning to use them for. It is deceiving to show the pictures and a hand or quarter next to them would be more accurate. These coins seem to be a scam. Their size is small compared to a dime. do not line up straight as other people have pointed out.
A push too hard or a push a little too far into a tree can be harmful These bend/break when they are on axis. It worries me that they might not survive the woods until next year. Despite what some people say, they do reflect pretty well at night.
They did not seem to be as bright as I expected when I was walking to my stand. I installed most trees with no problem, but some of the stems bent while i was doing so.
I was very pleased with the result. You will be amazed at how bright these are after you shine them Also, the white is less visible at night. They are stickers on tacks, so it is too soon to tell how long they will last. Thanks for the quick shipment.
This is the type that I use all the time. If I am going to reuse them again, I prefer these over the flat ones for their ease of removal. Easily visible from far away when illuminated by a flashlight.
When a light is shone on these, they really shine. There is the same product available for the same price at Walmart.
