We manufacture every hook in the beautiful state of Colorado, U.S.A. - I personally make every hook. The author is William
While it's pretty sturdy, I would recommend getting something with a wider hook if you plan to use it with a boa. It would likely work but wouldn't be Gaboon hooks are something you should consider.
It's hard to say. Despite the snakes' size, I am able to move a four foot Rattlesnake and five Bullsnakes without trouble. According to me, it's a very sturdy piece. There's just no way to tell if a 20-pound snake will fit in it or not.
If you require further information, I would recommend consulting Doc Seward directly. I really enjoy this snake hook and would recommend it to any snake enthusiast. It is altogether another matter if you have a boa. It is a pleasure to know Seward. He is honest, helpful, and very smart.

It was recommended to me and I bought it based on its good I occasionally need to escort a rattlesnake out of our chicken coop because we live in rattlesnake territory. I tried using the Snake Hook for the first time when I was catching a 3 foot rattlesnake, and the handle broke about 9 inches from the handle end. To say the least, that isn't what I expected or hoped for. There may be some benefit from this product if it is only intended for small garter snakes. The 3 ft. crates are fine if you need something stronger. A bit of a rattler isn't my cup of tea.
one of the better books I've read this year The hook is made of snake hide. I like it because it's light, comfortable and convenient This hook is well-balanced and shows a nice attention to detail, down to the copper ferrules and the smoothed edges and points. The tool is sharp enough to get under a snake, but not so sharp that the snake is inadvertently cut or punctured. A perfect grip is just what you need for your golf club. Two hands can fit in the glove, if needed, and it fits well on the hand. This is one of the reasons I'm glad Doc went with stainless instead of aluminum It is much less brittle, as well as far Moreover, it has a much nicer finish. The hook is for use in the yard, but I could see carrying it to the nearby woods when snakes are in season if I want to protect myself. When I was a biology student, I went on collecting trips during my undergraduate years and I wish I'd had it then. I expect it will be a great asset to our snake control here, since we have a fair number of snakes around here. It's true that next to this hook there are cheaper ones, but I bought this because of the reasons listed An ill-defined picture and a written description leaves a lot to the imagination Once I had it in my hands, I realized it wasn't that bad at all. My opinion is that this product is well worth the price.
Since I have used many snake hook brands over the years (and even made a few myself), I think I have a good idea what makes a good It is a perfect balance between weight and strength in the 43" field version from Dr. Seward. By integrating a custom Teflon weld to the stainless steel hook, the hook is permanently attached to the shaft Stainless steel ferrule that ensures the hook does not twist in the shaft while connected to the This sturdy shaft is made of smoothly tapered steel extrusion which is stronger than aluminum as well as more durable than epoxy It also comes in superior "rubberized" materials (which degrade in sunlight. )
I also like the superior "rubberized" handles - they are much more comfortable to hold. Non-profit organization that provides services The soft open cell foam that some other hooks use has no effect on the slip grip. This hook is certain to be a favorite of mine.
Initially, the hook arrived broken and I was very disappointed seeing as how I was going to use this hook at an expo and I have a lot of snakes that bite me, and it is going to be the first of its' kind I've used. The box was eventually returned, so I considered that to be the end of it. After I got off work, I was glad to see a box with a new hook and a sincere apology for the damage and I am very thankful for it. You are very kind for making this right I appreciate that. I think this is a very good and nice business, and I think you are doing a good job. Your help is greatly appreciated! There is no doubt in my mind that this hook is good!.
The quality of the product is excellent. However, I have not had a chance to use it yet it appears to be sturdy enough to give me confidence when attempting to move a snake out of the way. The only reason I gave it four stars for "light weight" is because it is quite hefty, but I love it for that. A light and flimsy construction is not what I'm after. It is important that I know that the hook will not come loose when I try to move a snake! This is one of the venomous snakes I have encountered! gives me the confidence I need to help bees and birds. The stick, umbrella, and hair brush I've used in the past have got to be superior to this!.
Due to the fact that these guys are fast and can be easily scared by shovels and poodles, I have been using the hook to get them into a bucket and relocate them to a more welcoming area. I am dealing with a snake that is between 3 and 7 feet long There are many things you may want to hang on it, and it is 7' long. It is extremely sturdy and lightweight, unlike retractable ones. The device is easy to handle, but light enough not to create undue stress for snakes. We will certainly make good use of it throughout the summer since it is not only handy but also easy to use.
Five copperheads have been caught safely with this hook in the past 72 hours. There is nothing like this to pull snakes out from under a car when you're fishing! It's very comfortable and light weight, which is great.

The hook has been in my possession for several months now and I still enjoy it as much as I did the first time I used A number of options were on the table while I searched for the perfect field hook at a reasonable price. Several emails of rapid-fire questions were answered by Doc Seward graciously during the course of our conversation. Taking this into consideration, I decided to go with this hook and am very pleased with my choice. While still looking nearly new, it has been used as a walking stick, rock flipper, bracing hook, and snake hook on several outings. Doc is a great source for purchase of field hooks and I recommend that anyone looking for a field hook seriously considers buying from him.
