Selected User Reviews For E.L.K., Cow Talk Call
After a 25-year hiatus from elk hunting, I decided to purchase this item because it's a call I used in the past and it's very simple to use. The new call's plastic is very different, and it's much more difficult to get good sound out of it. I ended up swapping bands into an older call, which I'm now using because it was much better.
This call left me feeling unsatisfied. It got a lot of positive feedback and appeared to have been around for a while, but it doesn't sound anything like a cow elk to me. Rather than an elk, it sounds like a child crying. When I return, I will receive a different phone call.
Since September of 1990, I've been using this phone number. It does not come to a halt. I can keep it "at the ready" between my front teeth to provide cover sound if something goes wrong. a step or a phone call to a locator When both hands are full, this is ideal for close range work. It's small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. I keep other calls on my lanyard for variety and longer range work, but I wouldn't be concerned if this was the only call I had with me when I left camp. Love it!.
It's something I wouldn't take into the woods without.
This is an excellent call- easy to use and store.
The design is simple and easy to transport.
It is small and simple to operate. It's one of my old standbys.
I prefer the tone to the reed calls, which can be a bit harsh at times.
