Update - We used it in the fall of 2020 in a unit with very few elk on public land, and we had one bull, cows, and calves respond to the call from a long distance on two occasions. They didn't come over, but this is a spooky, tense herd that hinted at the presence of a large bull. By sitting and ambush, I was able to capture this bull. As a result, I rate the call 5 stars based solely on the fact that this bull returned the call. br>br>To mimic the correct sound, you should practice listening to some real action videos, like Roe Hunting Resources. I purchased it primarily for the purpose of assembly. In three weeks, you should be able to put it to its full potential. What I'm wondering is, how do I clean it? I'd hate to take the reeds apart and put them back together incorrectly.
Yes, it does sound like an elk. The neck cord, on the other hand, is a bit scratchy.
Great sounding call that takes a little practice to master. I bought the single reed hyper lip after this one and it's a lot easier to master, but they're both fantastic.
This is a crucial call for the month of September. To make proper assembly mews, it's a must-have. There were a lot of bulls that were brought in.
It worked perfectly.
The sound travels well, and because it vibrates a lot on your lips, you'll want to place it on the corner of your mouth when using it.
It's "difficult to use," according to every review. It's easy to learn and works better than any other call I've used after an hour or two of practice.
This call hasn't made an impression on me. It's difficult to learn how to use and make proper sounds with. I was expecting this to be a fantastic call, as are the majority of Primos' calls. This one let me down.
