It was a fantastic decision. I only make a few grunts here and there when I'm out hunting. Every ten to fifteen minutes, I like to rattle and then let out a grunt. With this call, that strategy has proven to be extremely effective. Because I bow hunt, the deer must be within 45 yards of me. This grunt has a natural sound and can be very loud if necessary. I can't say for sure that this call has made a difference this season, but I have had more deer come in closer this season than in previous years. I've had success with Primos and Knight and Hale in the past, and this call appears to be performing better than those two brands. To be honest, Bullwinkle hasn't come charging up to my stand begging to be shot, but I've had a number of respectable bucks, as well as 2 and 3 year olds, walk through looking for the source of the call. The grunt is made of high-quality materials and is well-made. The only thing I can't say is whether or not the call will freeze because I live in Louisiana, where the weather, while occasionally cold, rarely gets cold enough to cause a call to freeze.
In practice, it appears to produce a more realistic grunt than the one I was using previously. If I remember, I'll report on whether it was a success or a failure in late 2021.
This call sounds incredibly realistic, far superior to any other I've heard or used. The only drawback is that it looks like another product. And that in the cold, the reeds frequently freeze together, requiring you to cover the end and blow hot air through it until it thaws.
I'm not sure if I received a faulty one. I bought one of these and replaced it with this one a few years ago. It's not nearly as loud as my previous one (which was of the same brand and model). The sound does not travel very far, and pushing too much air results in an unpleasant sound.
The simplicity and ease of use of the Brawler comes highly recommended from someone whose only success with a turkey call was a viral video of my wife gagging and sounding like a young elephant.
In less than two years, the rubber tubing had dried out. Nonetheless, this appears to be a fantastic idea.
I love this call because it sounds more like a real deer a big (BUCK) than any other grunt call I've ever used. I've used it to call in some really good deer. It's now my favorite grunt call out of all the ones I have, and I have a lot of them.
This is, by far, the best call I've ever used in my 40 years of bow hunting. In the two weeks that I've had it, it's brought in four dollars. I should've killed at least one of them. The rut had reached its pinnacle. The first two weeks of November were spent in Pennsylvania. I haven't tested it in cold temperatures yet, so I can't say whether it will freeze.
