These hooks are closer to a size one! The oversized hook on the bottom is a real size 4 Berkley hook pictured in the photos. In the other photo, you can see how the Gamakatsu hook looks like on the actual pack. You can see how it looks on the top of the one I received. Thank you for wasting my time! I will return them and not buy anything from Amazon ever.

My knot is losing grip while attached to my hook through the eye of the hook, so I bought these hooks to solve the problem. Although the knot and the hook are intact, the fish catches the lure when I lose the hook. Buying them based on the fact that it has a closed eye attracted me. It's true that the eye is crimped down, but I have experienced this problem with other hooks in the past. It seems to be a testament to the 14-LB braid that the knot slips right through. Hooks like these are what I'm all about. The hooks I've been using are the only ones I've ever used and have lost a lot of fish so I thought I'd try other hooks ever since I've only used these. It is possible I lost one or two per season last season, but that was most likely user error or just the fish got lucky and was able to shake the hook, but most every bite ends with the fish landing.

For many years, that was all I used. When the hooks of small bass would straighten, they would break on decent bass, so I just threw them away and started using owner hooks, and I have never been happier. As a result, gamakatsu has gone way down in quality.

Instead of buying 5 hooks at a time, it was awesome to find a bigger pack! Sure, it's possible to buy a more expensive hook, but I don't think the Gamakatsu hooks are any better!.
