A spinner similar to others that may or may not work on any given day

It's a spinner that works best when the fish are on the surface. Kokanee is a difficult fish to capture. It's impossible to predict what they'll do next.

I only managed to catch one fish

of all the equipment I only managed to catch one fish. This is the only piece of tackle in my tackle box that has produced a Rainbow. I've been out a few times in the last few weeks and have yet to catch anything, regardless of what's on the other end of my line.
