Questions & Answers
It is determined by the Rock Fish's size. The action on this spinning rod is light to medium. A slightly heavier Rod Med to Heavy is recommended for larger fish. br>I hope this has been of assistance to you.
Yes, it appears to fit Battle 2, 2500 - based on the rod's handle and nut. But I am 100% not certain.
I've caught 15-pound snapper and stingray with the medium rod. With heavier weights, it doesn't cast as far as you'd like, but it's an excellent all-around rod.
With a length of 21 inches, the handle section is a bit longer. The thicker sections are 5" in diameter, while the thinner sections are 21" in diameter. The sections are packaged in a 24-inch long plastic tube.

I've always loved Ugly Stik, and the gx2 is a waste of time. Stainless steel is used to create their new " ugly tough " eyes. They'll be destroyed by braid; the old school ones stood up to grooving far better than these. Make a good rod with porcelain eyes, Shakespeare. If you're selling a product that says it's durable and long-lasting, don't use stainless steel.
My girlfriend forgot my last one at the boat landing, so I had to purchase a replacement. This pole is extremely attractive. Although not as sensitive as a graphite rod, any graphite rod I have ever owned has always broken. On a choppy river, I go fishing. I always throw my gear in the boat or the car, and I've never broken a stick. I've owned a few over the years, and I have a few in my collection that have been around for well over a decade. When I need to hike deep into the backcountry or portage my canoe, the pack rod comes in handy. I've been to the boundary waters on several occasions, and I believe you'd be insane to try to transport full-size rods there. This is where I keep my travel rod. When I need to haul everything in my pack or canoe and need the convenience of a more packable rod this is my go to rod . I really like it, and I'm glad these exist because the other pack rods I've found are either too cheap or too expensive, or they're made of graphite, which I'm sure I'll break. With my clumsy fishing technique. I can't be too gentle with my gear; it needs to be able to withstand the abuse that comes with camping and traveling. Even though it comes with a case, it is inexpensive, so I simply use velcro tape to connect the pieces. I also used pvc pipes to make my own rod holders. This is the rod for you if you need to travel light.
7ft 1pc. So far, I've only used it twice, and landing a Redfish in the 26-inch range put the rod to the test. So far, when paired with a Penn 2500 for inshore fishing, this rod has proven to be fantastic. For spinning reels, the stiffness is just right. I bought two of them because they were such a good deal.
A few months ago, I changed my rod from Shakespeare to Ugly Stik it specifically for catfishing just for that purpose, so I used it heavy duty and I made sure I get that message out there and it's gone well so far.
I'd always heard that holding an Ugly Stik was like holding a tree branch, and that it had no sensitivity. Well, I purchased two GX2 models in 7'0 medium heavy, and let me tell you, I own a lot of rods, including three Fenwick HMG models, and I believe the Ugly Stik is just as sensitive as they are. Since then, I've purchased four more identical to the one I mentioned, as well as two more in the two-piece medium action. This rod's price is unbeatable.
My fiancé and I each purchased two of these. We were looking into which poles would be suitable for traditional lake/river fishing, as well as salt water and ocean fishing. They're capable of handling both situations! This pole is absolutely stunning! STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.
as previously stated in previous Ugly Stik reviews br>They're fantastic Rods - A Ugly Stik is an excellent choice. br>I now own four Ugly Stik rods, each of which is designed for a specific type of fishing. br>I've caught hundreds of fish in my time - In only a few years of using these Rods, I've seen a variety of species. br>Strongly advised.
It's small and compact, but it's a bit flimsy. It's a good travel rod, but it's not sensitive enough or has a fast enough action for me to use it as my main rod. br>br>*UPDATE* Since taking this little rod on a fishing trip to Sweden and Norway, where I caught trout, grayling, perch, and pike with it, I have to say that, despite its softness, it performed admirably, even with large pike lures. Although it is not a sensitive jigging rod, it is an excellent all-around rod.
