I can't imagine how a 2500 could handle 30 pounds. An engineered 4000 casting 30 pound braid has terrible casting performance. Surf fishing is one of my favorite activities in Delaware, USA. By using this reel, coupled with 50lb spider braided line on a 12 foot Uglistick, I can catch fish as far as the United Kingdom. Because of the reel's gearing, I can retrieve fish fast. One of the fans of Manchester United was recently seen drunk in that stadium. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to send him back. My mantle would have looked incredibly cool with him above it. I agree with you that this reel is fantastic. Fish will come to you with this, and you can cast a long way with it, and retrieve fast. I highly recommend this gear if you are going fishing. Nevertheless, if you're planning to drive to the beach and just chill with music like most people here do, then you are going to have to find another beach.
