Questions & Answers

What's the difference between the 1000 real and the 8000 You can view the lbs on all the numbers if you click on them. ?

The following is a response from Mike In spinning reels, 8000 size reels have a very large capacity and are very large in size. The 8000 type) are optimized for fighting large fish, and they even have the added capacity to allow you to fish in depths of up to 200' without running out of line if you encounter a large fish that is 'stripping' your line. Generally, the larger reels are designed to put up with more line stripping in the event that you hook up on a larger There are only limited lines available on, and therefore, a 1000 reel has very little A 1000 size reel would be the best choice if you're fishing for a smaller species of fish, although some anglers are skilled enough to use 1000 and 1500 size reels for catching sizable fish.

In the event that the spool rises up, the bail gets stuck behind What does that mean? Do you think it is ?

You said the bail got stuck over the spool, but I'm unclear what you mean. Are you having trouble getting your bail sorted out or is it closed? While reeling they stuck in a few places right at the top where the spool would reach when you reached the top, so I had to return one. The fishing was heavy with mackerel, amberjack, and sharks. I decided not to switch them out due to limited time. They handled heavy fishing without a hitch. There were 90lb braids and 5ft heavy rods being used for the fishing. If you have used saltwater on your car for a long time, I recommend thoroughly cleaning the engine compartment on the inside.

Are there more than one ball bearing on it?

This is yet another example of incomplete listings on Amazon. Thanks for the comment! The description and specifications of our site are clear and comprehensive. We have 6 Stainless Steel ball bearings in the Penn BattleII we have on the shelf, so it has six in total. There is a 2 to 1 ratio and 260yds of 20lb line capacity of this in store special, and the in store price is significantly less than Feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding the product or the price. When it comes to braided lines with 30 pounds of tension, what is the best size?

The weight of 30 pounds is much too much for the I can't get a good cast out of 30 pounds braid on a 4000. The majority of my reels consist of 4000 reels and 10 pound braid. The biggest shark in my fishing experience is over 100 pounds and I have landed over 30 pounds on a 6000 reel. About 200 or more

With this reel you can retrieve fish fast due to the gearing
5/5

My home is in Delaware, USA where I fish the waves. I can nearly reach England when using this reel in conjunction with a braided line of 50lb spider on a 12 foot Uglistick. The gearing on this reel makes retrieving the fish fast and effortless. One of those soccer fans is a Manchester United supporter who was drunk recently. It was unfortunately necessary for me to throw him back. A photo of him above my mantle would have been awesome. Whatever the case, yes, this reel is absolutely stunning. It's true that you will catch fish with it, and you can cast far and smooth and retrieve fast with it. If you are into fishing, you should certainly consider this. But if you want to be like most of the people around here and just drive onto the beach to listen to music, then you need to find another one, The Penn Battle II 8000 reels that we use here are from Penn. Sand is something that you have to find yourself.

Your entry was great - This level reel is perfect for saltwater fishing
4/5

The Penn Battle II offers great value for whatever you need a reel for. Don't let your reels break or let them fail when the time is most critical. It is my opinion that the Battle II series of computers are well-built and I own several of them in 2000/4000/5000/6000/8000. It is a solid investment A bit heavy, but still good Following a day of fishing, you should only rinse your equipment with fresh water. With my Battle II reels, I have fantastic drag, and as the cheapest reel with HT-coating, it's still the most affordable reel I've used It's a worthy entry into the Penn family, with an awesome 100 drag system.
If you are a bait thrower and like to wait for big drag screaming strikes, then you should pick from the 5 to 100 sizes This series of computers is 8000. You may want to stick with the smaller 1000-size lures if you like throwing them As the series 5000 and above increase in weight, the 4000 series has heavier weight. At the current price point, you'd be hard pressed to find a better reel than a Penn Battle II. There are, however, much better reels which cost more money. It is the 4000 and the 6000 that I enjoy most. If you rarely fish but still want a quality reel that costs less, look at the Penn Fierce line.

Only a 4 star review for the weight, I feel like they could've cut it down equally for the entire line. Below is a picture of my Penn 6000 that has seen plenty of sharks, rays, and other big fish and has only needed a fresh water rinse each year and is ready for another year My heavy use of the product caused the grease to build up.

Although effective, it is not very Surfcasting in New Jersey for inshore species such as bluefish and striped bass was what I mostly used this reel for
3/5

It was a great tool for me during the season I used it There were many fish I landed with it since the drag was smooth. Cleaning and maintaining the reel in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations was my responsibility. It was a disappointment to discover that the main gear failed after just a few months after the warranty expired. It might be a good choice if you fish occasionally, but from personal experience, I would suggest you don't use it on a regular basis.

A lot of good reviews have led me to expect great things from this reel
5/5

In any case. As I had read a wide range of positive reviews, I had high expectations for this reel. After unboxing and my first impressions of it, I wasn't as taken aback as I was, but it was still cool enough to make me feel like something awesome. The reel was probably overly expected to be better than reels at its retail price. I have an Abu Garcia Pro Max SP30 reel and comparing the spin and feel of this reel with the PB II 2000, the SP30 is smoother and more solidly built. Then I oiled up the reel with a drop of super reel oil on both the spool and handle bearings, and it flew like a dream. This is indeed a very happy occasion for me. It is the higher spinning ratio of 6 that strikes me as particularly notable in the PB II 2000. It is not common to see spinning reels with this feature. Immediately, I plan to spool up my Penn Battle II 2000 with Kastking Copolymer 6lbs/0 after pairing it up with an Ugly Stick Elite 6' 6" Ultralight rod (which I also ordered at the same time as this reel). The sample is a 2mm line. We'll comment more once we've done some field testing.

I am so sad about this
3/5

After 2 purchases of this reel, I thought it was just a coincidence that it got sticky on the first use, when it was brand new and out of the While waiting for the service to be completed, I ordered another one. It's so sad, I've got hosed again and have the same problem. It's been a long time since Penn quality was so poor. That's it for me with Penns.

This is a beginner's review
5/5

Located on Assateague Island in Maryland. A three-dimensional model for the 3000 series. Fresh water fishing is my specialty, but I am not familiar with surf fishing. Buying the 3000 series for $109 was a good deal for me. On Assateague Island, me and my boys like to go camping once or twice a year to meet nice people, drink, and cook food over fire. It's been a long time since I've been surf fishing, and I wanted to do it this year. In the evening, I went fishing after I had looked up all my supplies to purchase. Since I will be going surf fishing in addition to my regular freshwater fishing, I wanted to be sure that the reel I purchased would be dependable and quality. I'm fishing in Assateague, where you're able to catch blue fish, drum, trout, bass, and croaker, so I'm not going to catch anything to weigh more than I felt confident when I watched this reel. It didn't matter to me what the reel looked like. was more concerned over how my rod would hold up and how the line I was using would handle the wind. My equipment all arrived, but for this review I would like to mention It turned out to be a good reel. Those of you who are new to fishing but know you're going to do it consistently should take note of the following advice There is no need to use the most expensive, finest equipment It consists of To fish, line products are used. It is vital that you not skimp on quality gear if you are planning to fish for years to come. Our Penn Battle II 3000 spinning reel is an excellent choice. If there are any updates, I'll provide them.

It is part of the Penn Battle II 3000 series
5/5

Everything I wanted and more is on this reel. I love the fact that it has a braid ready strip that has held my spiderwire stealth 30lb braided line up nicely. Retrieval has been flawless on it, and it has held up to a shark over 20 feet long. This reel, as well as the ugly stick, was for sale in a live bait shops at Myrtle beach for sale by the owner and which he according to me he uses on the charter boats. There is nothing better than the 3000, it is the perfect reel for combo casting. The only time I use it is to go to the beach and freshwater. There are few reels I would recommend as strongly as this one.
