The beeds bled color into the squids, but that wasn't a big deal. The hook, on the other hand, was a little too big. br>From the beginning, I changed these. The hook was removed and a swivel snap was added in its place. I tied the squid to a wire leader with three smaller hooks so I could attach ballyhoo. On two of them, I also removed the birdy and replaced it with a swivel. I put the birdies on small 1 foot lines so they could be replaced or used in other setups, and I caught mahi and a ballyhoo/cigar minnow skipping right behind the boat with them. I run the pink one high with birdie and about a hundred yards back. The birds have a lot of movement and skip around a lot. On that setup, we've had tens of fish. The yellow squids are the most popular setup. I use a yellow/gold magnum rapala rated for 25 feet to fish that as a daisy. It has snagged far too many fish to keep track of. It is adored by kings. I run six rods and my spread is currently effective, so the blue one isn't fished as much.
I bought these without thinking about redoing the rigging, which was a mistake. The line came out of the crimp the first time I hooked up with them. So I checked all of them and tried to crimp them with only my hands, but it didn't work. If you redo the rigging, they'll be fantastic!.
When I took it off after a day of trolling, the crimp had come apart. I would have lost the entire rig if a fish had struck it, but Again, none of the three fish in my spread were caught. I caught a slew of tuna but not one of these. They did, in fact, hit other rigs using the same colors.
It's a fantastic deal, in my opinion. I haven't tried fishing with it yet, but it appears to be very good. I was able to remove some of the wire from the crimps by hand, and I went over all of the crimps with my tool, which I believe corrected the problem. I'm glad I read the reviews on this site before making a purchase.
On my outriggers, I trolled this about 50 yards behind the boat, between the boat and a KingBuster Christmas tree about 100 yards back on the outer loop. With a cigar minnow, I caught several Bonita and Spanish Mackerel, and I'm sure it helped draw the Kingfish in to attack the Kingbusters.
I've trolled these for tuna a couple of times but have yet to catch anything. It was simple to install them on my Shimano Tiagra 130s and deploy them behind the boat. Splashing in the water behind the boat, which was trolling at about 7 knots, the birds created a lot of excitement. I'm looking forward to seeing a fish come up and hit one of these.
These things look great on the water, and the bird teaser makes a lot of splashes. I'm getting hit on these lures all the time, but there's no hook-up. I believe the fish are hitting the squid in the chains that don't have hooks, and they'll end up hooking all of the squids. br>br>**Update 8/18/2018*

Thanks for the great product, I caught a 90 pound yellowfin tuna on these!.
