This sleeve fits easily over the bottom, larger eye of the rod, allowing it to clear it This pouch fits well around the reel and is held in place by Velcro. Both sides of the pole have holes that can be used for retrieving with either hand. In case your rods have a long handle or seat base, the strap between the reel pouch and rod sleeve allows them to be accommodated. You can't go wrong with these since they are an upgrade over net You don't want dust and spider webs on your gear while it's sitting in the garage between weekends on the water if you take care of it. We will be able to solve it with this product. I have included pictures of both the SF stand alone pouches and the net style sleeves. They are also fantastic and I have six of them.
As much as I wanted this to work, I couldn't make it I think it has a great Just a minor tweak needs to be made to the execution. I am not fond of the way the sleeve feels when I wear it. This puts so much pressure on the rod tip and causes it to bend quite a bit that I feel like I can't even handle it. I found this on both my ML and L power rods. The second thing is that it needs to be extended by a few inches so that a 7' rod can be accommodated. It was causing a lot of pressure on the tip of the rod when I had it on a 7' rod and I had to stretch to get the reel cover in place. My Megabass rod tip felt like it might snap off if I left it on it for an extended period of time. I had to stretch it so hard it felt like I was going to snap it off. Also, I tried it on a 6'9" Light rod and it wasn't quite as stable as I'd thought. The tip is at least important enough to worry about It also bent the rod pretty well because of the weight of the sleeve. It should be made from lighter neoprene and about three inches wide You can hit it home with a 6 inch extension.
The idea of a sleeve cover at first sounded a bit odd to me. After I tried it on a rod, I realized that it was much more helpful than I thought! There is a lot of thick brush where I go. Getting my line into the bush this way will prevent my line from getting snagged and it will also provide some additional durability to the rod so that it will not break when a tree jumps out and tries to break it.
As I ordered it, I was concerned about the size since the description stated that it could be fitted to a spinning reel up to 3000mm. It is intended for use with a Daiwa BG 4000 which runs a bit smaller than most 4000s. I found the fit to be snug, but it worked. Though I wouldn't use it for say a Penn 4000.
I like how easy it is to use and how well it protects the rods. Your reel handles are inserted into the holes on both sides of the reel cover.
The cover is pretty good, though I wish it had been just 6 or so inches longer to protect a little more of the rod on a longer rod, but for a 7'6" rod it is perfectly adequate. I am attaching some photos of what I have if it is helpful and I hope it can help compare and contrast to yours.
The rods can be easily stowed after each fishing trip, proving to be great for rod storage.
This is a great idea and makes it much easier to keep track of everything on shore thanks to the sock and reel cover coming as one piece. Just because I have not had it for a long time, I can't give it all five stars.
