Selected User Reviews For Scientific Anglers Air Cel Floating Lines

I purchased this line to use on my new reel, and it is excellent
5/5

Many people emphasize the importance of having a high-quality fly line because it is, without a doubt, the most important component of a fly fishing setup. However, I do not believe that spending $80 or more on a fly line is necessary. There are plenty of good lines between $20 and $40 on the market, and this is one of them. I have no trouble casting and getting my line to lay out straight and go where I want it. While I'm sure there are advantages to having a more expensive line, it's not necessary, and a "beginner" line like this will suffice for most people.

Excellent value for money
5/5

Rio Mainstream is the only other line I've tried because I'm new to the sport. This Air Cel line, in my opinion, outperforms the Mainstream line while costing about half as much. It's also worth noting that, unlike the Rio Mainstream, the Air Cel line is not overweight. For the majority of us weekend warriors, this line will suffice. I got this Air Cel line AND a nice new/extra spool for my Orvis reel for the price of the fancy stuff.

There is a distinction
5/5

I replaced a very basic no-name fly line with this and noticed a significant improvement. I'm able to cast further, and everything feels more fluid in general. It was a no-brainer to upgrade for the price. This is something I would recommend to someone who is new to fly fishing (mostly Stillwater).

This is a very light-weight line
3/5

This is far too light! I rarely give one star reviews, but it's unavoidable in this case. We ordered a 6WF line for a 5/6 rod, but the line was so light that it wouldn't even cast out more than 10 feet. I compared the Scientific Angler line to a 4WF line I have and found the Scientific Angler line to be much smaller in diameter and lighter in weight than the 4WF line I have. We've had nothing but positive experiences with Scientific Angler in the past, so this comes as a complete shock. I went back to double-checking my work. I looked through the reviews and was surprised to find that no one else had had the same experience. I'm at a complete loss for words. This might not be an issue with a smaller rod. Hopefully, this information will be useful in another situation.

Excellent value for money
4/5

I needed a 9 wt floater for a specific application and didn't want to spend $90 on a line I'd only use once or twice. This is a good all-around line. It doesn't float as high or shoot as smoothly as lines with modern treatments and texture, but it does the job. In most cases and at this price, you could replace three lines for the price of one.

split
3/5

After putting on the reel, I noticed that about 8 inches back from the weld, the line had a split in the outer layer, as if it had been cut, and a piece of the outer coating was hanging, so rather than returning it, I cut off about a foot and will use it on a spare fly rod. This must have happened at the factory, because the pipe cleaners were still holding the line on the spool to me, which indicates poor quality control.

People, there is no need to look any further
5/5

Because I've only had it for a short time, I can't comment on its durability, but it appears to be holding up well. Otherwise, I'd say this is the best or one of the best lines you'll find for the money; it's probably as good as or better than some lines that cost two to three times as much, and at $25, why would you look for anything else?.

For me, it was time to upgrade my fly line
5/5

I'm new to fly-fishing. I enjoy fishing, but I'm not very good at it. As a result, I've been purchasing the cheapest fly line I can find. I decided to spend a little more money on this, and the difference in quality is noticeable. It's fantastic material. It casts better than the cheap Chinese stuff I was using previously, and I expect it to last longer. It's also a well-known brand. What more could you want from a product, a company, a seller, and a price?.
