or is it excellent? This line has a great cast and shoots straight through the guides. It's a little heavy, which is good for a beginner like me. My only problem is that it is quite large; This line's memory is uncontrollably high. Every time I pull line off the reel, it's a curly mess. I've stretched it out with my hands and a straightener tool, but it's still a curly mess. This is a middle of the road line. For the price, you'd think this wouldn't be an issue, but at $50, you'd think it wouldn't be. This is better than my $14 line, which stays straighter.
Casts well and is smooth in the eyelets of the poles and in your hands. Even in dim lighting, bright colors are easy to see.
Coming from a SA fly line, I was underwhelmed by this line, which feels cheap and has a poor memory. It's even worse than the Amazon fly line I got with my first reel.
As butter, it glides through the rod's eyes. To get rid of memory, stretch a little. Thanks.
The line glides effortlessly through the guides and floats beautifully. The loop is great for replacing leaders, and it was a great price.
This line has a lot of casting power, especially with big streamers. Casting nymph rigs at a short distance can be awkward, and it does not roll cast as well as one might hope. br>br>But most importantly, I've had this line in the water for at least 60 days, mostly in Alaska and a little in Oregon, and it's gotten pretty dirty. I've also noticed that a crack has started at the beginning of the welded front loop and is nearly torn all the way around. I'm not impressed with the fly line's longevity.
It's a great casting line that doesn't tangle easily.
