Questions & Answers

Is there a pouch that comes with the reel?

It is packaged in a cloth bag. I was so taken with the Sword 11 3/4 that I purchased a 5/6.

Do you have any extra spools?

Yes, you simply need to order additional sword spools, which are identical.

I'm looking for some extra spools, but I can't seem to find any. You haven't been able to locate a listing. ?

Hello, the spare spool was not sold on Amazon by us. If you require a replacement spool, please contact us. You could get in touch with us.

Do I think I'll be able to use it in seawater?

I only use it in freshwater, but for the price/quality ratio, I wouldn't mind using it in saltwater as well. It's simple to disassemble, and the drag washers can be replaced, so as long as you rinse it off and do a full breakdown every now and then, I don't see why not. If you think a reel doesn't need to be maintained, try blowing 400 on a hatch and you'll see how sand and salt get into everything.

Quality Reel with a Long Life
5/5

I purchased the 5/6 reel to use with a 6wt setup I built. I used 30 pound dacron backing and Risen's WF 6 pound floating line. The fly line is about 85 feet long, and it was too long to fit on the reel with the 100 yards of 30lb backing, so I removed about 40 or 50 yards of backing and everything fits perfectly now. So far, I've only used this reel once, but it was a lot of fun. I have a few inexpensive reels that came with inexpensive beginner outfits, as well as a few nicer reels that I have since upgraded, and this is definitely one of the nicer reels. Throughout the day, some people reported having issues with the drag backing off. This is something I didn't notice, but it's not a major issue for me. The drag is very nice and smooth, and even if it does need to be adjusted now and then, I don't think that's a bad thing because I believe that's a good habit for anyone to have. When I took this reel out this weekend, it was also subjected to some rough treatment. My reel went straight into the mud after I slipped on a muddy bank. I rinsed it in the water (completely submerging it) and the drag didn't seize up or anything like I've had cheaper reels do in the past; I know this reel is made in China, but a lot of rods and reels are now made overseas (even big name brands), and you'll still pay a lot more for them. The Piscifun Sword 2 is a fantastic bang-for-your-buck sword. for- your- I'm in love with my buck reel and couldn't be more pleased!.

All of the best fly fishing reels have passed through my hands
5/5

All of the best fly fishing reels, including Abels, Lamson Waterworks, Tibor, and even Charlton, have been in my possession. However, I am not likely to purchase them again. This Piscifun reel has incredible quality for the price, with excellent craftsmanship, a comfortable grip, and a smooth drag. This is a no-brainer, especially if you're fishing for trout. Now I can spend even more money on fly rods because I know I got a great reel for a fraction of the cost.

Light and airy
5/5

This was purchased to replace a $200 Redington Rise that had been causing me problems for several months. This Piscifun has made my life so much easier. It's about the same weight as my 3/4-weight Rise (within a fraction of an ounce, so it's barely noticeable to me). )br>br>In the first month, I used it about a half-dozen times. Beginning in the middle of the twentieth century, To get to the freshwater streams in Hawaii, you'll have to bushwack to the tops of the mountains. I've already put more abuse on this reel than it deserves, but it's still holding up admirably. When I'm fishing for small trout with a 3-pounder, I rarely need the drag. wt, but the drag appears to be fairly smooth and does not deviate from the settings you've selected. If I ever catch that 18-inch fish that runs into my backing, I'm sure it'll perform admirably. And it won't be because of this reel that I don't land that fish when I do. br>br>Overall, I'm convinced that this company's reels are of high quality. I'm not going to spend another $200-$300 on something else. I could get three or four of these for less than $300 on a freshwater reel.

Wow, this reel is as good as, if not better than, any other reel I've ever used! Awesome! This reel was recommended to me by my brother, who is, without a doubt, one of the best fly fishermen in the world, if not the best
5/5

I can't tell you how happy I am! This reel, without a doubt, provides the best value for your money! You get all of the quality of your top-shelf reels for a fraction of the cost. I'm not sure how the quality can be so high for such a low price, but I'm not going to argue about it! For the first time, the phrase "too good to be true" is no longer applicable. That's how good it is, and how true it is! It'll go great with my custom St. Croix Legend XL, which my brother made for me. I think it's fantastic, and the proportions are just right!.

It is pointless to adjust the drag
3/5

I was hoping for a good value reel in a market that seems to be flooded with overpriced reels that can only hold line at lighter weights. That's not the case, in my opinion. The main reason is that the drag adjustment is a pain to use and does not stay in place. br>br>I had just finished an Okuma SLV 5/6. I purchased the Sword in a 3/4wt weight. I had hoped for a slightly larger arbour so that line retrieval would be less of a pain. I should've done a better job of inspecting the situation. It's billed as a "middle-of-the-road" type of vehicle. arbor", but the Okuma's equivalent 5/6 reel is actually smaller, and the 3/4 version is even smaller. br>br>I was impressed by the reel's fit and finish. It has a smooth action and a pleasant drag, but the drag adjustment was deceiving. As you adjust it, you'll hear a series of small clicks. The majority of clicks, however, are simply dialing it down, so it isn't completely free. The frustrating part is twofold: it spins and makes a mess of the line. To begin, after many clicks, you can go from ideal to free-form in what appears to be only 5 clicks. On one hand, you have a spinning mess, and on the other hand, you have a molasses-soaked mess. On the other hand, it is slow. The bad drag's other half is that it won't stay in place! You can adjust it to the one position that actually works, and it will either bump or work itself loose after a while. br>br>I was compelled to purchase this after purchasing a $20 Croch reel that was surprisingly good, leading me to believe that a $50 reel would be much better. My assumptions were incorrect. Make sure you don't make the same blunder that I did. Other details that I believe my Okuma SLV excels at: br>br> A cap must be unscrewed to remove the spool from this reel. Because the drag has loosened up too much, don't drop it in the river while you're sorting out your mess of line. To release the spool on the Okuma, you pull a lever. There is no need to worry about losing your cap. The drag remains consistent while still allowing for useful adjustments in fractions of a pound. The Okuma has a rating of 4,4. 25, 4. 5, 4. 75 is a good example. This reel has the same feel as a 0 and a 0. 1, 0. 2, 4, 5, 9, 15, and 18 are all numbers that can be used to make a number.

The basic design is excellent
5/5

The construction quality is excellent. You can tell right away that the Machining processes were good when you see a come out of the box. The real was fantastic in terms of operation and overall functionality! By design, it has a very simple feel to it. Beautifully crafted. It appeals to my tastes. It's an odd thing to emphasize, but I prefer the real knob. It feels good in my hands, almost as if I have more control than I need. However, it should not be overbearing or obtrusive to the touch. It fishes as expected in terms of technique. In comparison to other reels of similar design, the depth of the actual reel basin is significantly greater. I'll be able to fit a lot more lines on it now. Other noteworthy facts indicating that the real thing didn't turn out so well- It appears that the Coatings will last because they are lubricated.
