Questions & Answers

What wt. The 5/6wt reel includes a line. 6wt line is what I'm looking for. ?

Buyer beware: I ordered this combo with enough time to go on a trip, but they didn't include the backing line, fly line, or tapered lines. I had to go to a fly shop and purchase them separately. Maxcatch refused to reimburse me for the additional purchase I should not have made. They sent it about 3 weeks later after a few emails back and forth.

Is there a carrying case included?

A simple cloth pouch is all that is required.

Is there a warranty on this product?

A three-year warranty is listed on the company's website.

What is the procedure for ordering a weight reel? I can't seem to find the option. ?

The rod, reel, and line should all be the same weight, so if you have a 3/4 wt rod, get a 3/4 wt reel and 3 or 4 weight line. The recommended wt for reel and line is usually indicated on most rods.

This reel is fantastic
5/5

I received this reel on time today, and it is in excellent condition. br>I attached it to my maxcatch nymph rod with work line and nymph line and caught a few trout. It's incredibly simple to switch from left to right hand retrieval. This is a fantastic story. It appears to be fantastic. This, as well as other maxcatch products, comes highly recommended. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> Today I went trophy fishing, and it was the first time the drag had to be fully engaged, and it worked flawlessly. I caught ten trout over 20 inches, all of which were 4-pounders. 8 pounds. I'm growing fond of this reel!.

What I don't understand is how "big name" companies can keep their designs from progressing and still sell their goods. To name a few, there's Orvis, Redington, and many more. They still use bushings in their reels, as well as a clicker. In a reel, I despise the clicker. It's fine if they want to keep doing it, but at the very least provide a way to get rid of it. Turn the tables and concentrate on these Chinese reels. The other well-known brands are Chinese as well. Let's just call these people "no names" for now. They actually put bearings in the reels, making them run so much smoother. Let's say you're ten years down the road and you've got a problem. Take out the bearing and replace it, that's what you should do. You won't be able to do that with the big names. The reel is retired once the bushing has worn out. If you don't have access to a machine shop, you won't be able to do anything. These lesser-known businesses are making significant progress, and the quality of their products has improved, so there is no longer any reason to be afraid of investing in them. Yes, I have a lot of the well-known reels, but I also have a lot of the lesser-known ones. Rather than tearing my hair out every time I have to hear the clicks as I reel, I leave them at home and use these silent retrieve reels instead. Don't be afraid of being judged by your peers. Allow them to try out the reel if they inquire about it. They are also planning to purchase one.

A couple of minor issues were resolved thanks to OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE! So far, everything has gone smoothly
5/5

It has a simple design and is reasonably smooth. The drag is the only problem I've been having. It should loosen up fairly quickly on its own. It irritates me a little, which is why I gave it four stars. The reel is fantastic in every other way. This reel has been through a lot of drops. I'm in Machining school right now, so I made some parts to keep the drag from loosening up too much. Keep the reel clean and greased, and it will last for a long time!br>br>MAXIMUMCATCH'S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY TOP NOTCH! I'm going to give it a 5 out of 5 rating. br>Recently, I've been doing a lot of lake float tube fishing. I asked maxcatch what size the cork drag disk was so I could replace it when it became saturated and fell apart. "We believe that a new reel will resolve this issue for you," they replied. A BRAND NEW REEL! There's nothing more a person could ask for! For me, Maxcatch has been absolutely fantastic. When I slipped and fell, I shattered one of their fly rods. No questions asked, a new rod section arrived 15 minutes later.

Maxcatch is the same as maximum quality
5/5

This won't catch you any more or any fewer fish, but for the price, it's difficult to find a better deal. I purchased a 3/4 wt, but I only use two of them. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I wouldn't use more than three times a year. While most people using a smaller size reel like this will not use the drag very much, it does the job. Also, some people will appreciate the lack of sound/clicking when reeling in the line, while others will not; this is my first reel with no sound feedback when reeling in the line.

What a great deal! I was hesitant to purchase an off-the-shelf item
5/5

Reel with a brand name at a low price. I own Lamson, Sage, and other high-end brands, so I have no qualms about spending $450 on a reel. This time, I bought an Echo 2WT rod from my shop, and I wanted to keep the setup simple because I'm fishing small brookie streams with it. Because I'm unlikely to use a drag system on a 2WT, I figured I'd take a chance on a less expensive reel. I did some research and Maxcatch appears to have a lot of positive feedback. It was made of CNC-machined aluminum, and there were three things about it: 1. 8oz, not even cast aluminum, which you'd find in lower-end models from higher-priced brands. I purchased it for $40. br>Well, I've got to tell you, the drag is fantastic, and the reel's quality is nowhere near what you'd expect. It's a lovely, well-machined reel that's also quite light. If you're worried about it balancing on your rod, believe me when I say it'll be fine. I'm very pleased with this purchase, and I'll keep this brand in mind for future purchases!.

Except for the subpar 3/4 fly line, nice reel and components; I'm happy with the budget reel and various components, but the Maxcatch 3wt
3/5

I had to order better line in order to use the reel because of the fly line. I spooled the reel and attached it to a 3 wt rod. With the 3 wt. rod, I immediately experimented with different casting techniques. I compared it to other 3/4 lines and found that it lacks body, castability, and the "feel" of a weight forward line. Reel combinations with that rod, then with a 3/4 wt rod. rod. The Maxcatch line is nothing more than a stale cookie. For the price, it's probably all that can be expected.

The reel is fantastic! The reel is absolutely stunning! It looks fantastic on my Maxcatch blue Ultraglass rod! Retrieval was so easy! Drag is easy to control and smooth
5/5

In a matter of seconds, you can switch from retrieving with your left to retrieving with your right hand. It has the appearance and functionality of a much more costly reel. You will not be disappointed with the build quality. I fish in a lot of places that are heavily forested and rough, and I can't see myself spending hundreds of dollars on a freshwater reel just to get gravel rash and bumped around. This thing works perfectly and at a fraction of the cost of the competition.

For the price, this is a very well-made reel
5/5

I chose the black and red 9/10-weight reel. I was impressed with how well-made this reel is in comparison to other reels of similar price; I've already fished it and it performed admirably. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> This reel is built to withstand the test of time! Since I got it, I've caught well over two dozen salmon with it, and it's stood up to all of my abuse. What a fantastic purchase!.
