Questions & Answers

How many surf rods do you think you could cram into this case? When it comes to the larger guides, there are a few things to keep in mind. ?

I can easily fit six English two-piece 12ft rods in, as long as they have 50mm guides.

Is it possible to lock this?

Yes! You could use a locker, drill a new hole, and insert a "plastic string locker" (I'm not sure what it's called!). ) and it's a perfect fit!

Will a single 8-foot rod suffice?

Yes, a one-piece 8-foot rod will fit without issue; I had the same problem last year taking tarpon rods on the plane to the Caribbean. In fact, the case is quite large and can accommodate a large number of rods. I had 5 rods in my backpack, ranging in length from 7 to 15 feet. On that trip, I was able to gain an additional 8 feet. Exceptionally safe.

Is this going to work with three? 4,8- Rods that are 9 feet long and are made up of two pieces?

Easily. It could easily accommodate eight one-piece rods. If anything, it would be too long for your requirements, and you may need to fill the ends to make room.

On multiple flights, my 12 rods were easily accommodated and protected
5/5

Finally, I discovered a rod case with enough room for both my freshwater and saltwater rods. I had plenty of room for my 8-foot rod. One of my main reasons for purchasing the rod case was that it could be accepted as carry-on luggage for flights; after using it for flight transportation, I've used it for moving, traveling, camping, and other activities. It's great to be able to pack a bunch of rods and know they'll be safe. They're not the most comfortable for packing in a car, so I'd suggest taking a truck instead. This case is extremely durable. It is a purchase you will not be sorry for.

You receive a fair return on your investment
5/5

I wish something like this was available in a smaller diameter. This is a very large tube. 8". At the very least, you'd be able to fit six of them in there. There's enough room for 8 costal rods. I strapped it to my truck rack with no tube compression. These are far more durable than any I've seen before. It's a good thing it rolls. At the end of the day, I had to glue the foam pad. I had it strapped to the truck rack in the rain as we drove, dry inside; it's worth it if it saves one of my expensive rods.

It accomplishes its goal
5/5

Last year, I went to El Salto and purchased this case in order to bring down eight bass rods, ranging in length from seven feet to seven feet eight inches. The diameter of this case is much larger than that of eight rods. This tube has plenty of room for more. I was a little nervous on the way down to Mexico, but no longer. This particular case performed admirably. This year, and for many years to come, I'll be using it again. I strongly suggest it!.

Take care not to lose your wheels
3/5

This came in a sturdy cardboard box and was well-packaged. One wheel was missing when I removed the case from the box. The wheel was in the box, but it was held in place only by a metal cap that had come loose. My husband recognized the flaw in the design and drilled a hole through the metal shaft on which the wheels are mounted to allow for a cotter pin to be installed. To keep them from falling off, a pin should be inserted. I'm glad it happened in the box because there's no way the wheels would have stayed on if it had happened on the plane. Once we've traveled with the case, I'll post an update.

For rods, this is the best travel case
5/5

period! It's not the cheapest travel case on the market, but if you're flying with a few thousand dollars in rods, you'll want to make sure they arrive in good condition. I took it with me to the Bahamas and it worked perfectly. I didn't want to take the chance of using an inexpensive travel case. Spend a little more money. The peace of mind is well worth it. It also accommodates a large number of rods. I brought two fly rods, three surf casting rods, and three rod holders, with room to spare.

The setup of the wheels is incorrect
3/5

After only one use, the wheels came off. I'm going to add a stronger fastener to this wheel setup, either a pair of pipe clamps or a small tig weld on another nut if I can find one small enough. br>br>UPDATEbr>br>I installed a threaded steel shaft from the hardware store and secured it with lock nuts and thread lock. I'm hoping it'll work!.

13 rods fit, and it made it through a move
5/5

This is fantastic for transporting fishing rods! For our move, we packed 13 rods without reels (some baitcasting, some spinning) and they all survived. I don't see why it couldn't handle airline travel if it survived being handled roughly during a move. This is an excellent item.

This bag is ideal for any trip
5/5

This item was ideal for my son's saltwater/freshwater fishing rods. We liked how it could be adjusted in height and fit a lot of rods. We were able to take it on Delta Airlines for no additional cost because it was considered a single bag (sport luggage, similar to a pair of skis). We're glad we'll be able to use it for long car rides in the future.
