Questions & Answers
These are floating fly lines that are designed to be weight forward.
It's braided in the same way that fly reel backing line is. It was purchased to go around the black sipping straws that are used to adjust floating bobbers and make slipknots. These knots are available in fishing stores, but they are quite expensive, so I found a video on YouTube that demonstrated how to tie these knots onto the straws so you can slip them up your line and adjust the depth of your hook below your bobber. No braided mono, but they could be used to make leaders because they are similar to braided dacron. The fly reel's backing must be installed first, followed by the main floating/sinking/weight forward fly line being connected above the braided dacron. If you only used fly line to catch a big fish, you'd run out of line quickly or have to spend a lot of money on a fly line that was 2/3 the length of the fish - The backing line allows you to fight the fish past the special fly line that you'll need to catch it.
Yes, 300 yards should suffice.
That is an excellent query. To be honest, I don't know, but braided backing is used to build a larger arbor on your fly reel and as a backup line if you catch a fish that is larger than your target species. Braided mainline is much thinner and is designed to flow easily through rod guides, whereas braided backing is thicker and is not intended to be cast, such as on a spinning reel. I hope this has been of assistance. Braided lines are available from Piscifun, Kastking, and Reaction Tackle for a great price!

The quality of the fishing equipment I purchased has surpassed my expectations. I'm a bit of a skeptic and perfectionist when it comes to my fishing gear, and I don't like to take chances. I saw a few YouTube reviews of PISCIFUN fly reels a while back that piqued my interest, so I purchased one to try. WOW! The PLATTE reel blew me away in terms of quality and performance. It's become one of my favorites, and it's without a doubt the best VALUE of any of the reels I own. Since then, I've been a supporter of PISCIFUN and their high-quality products. They also provide excellent customer service. They are meticulous in their attention to detail and will go to great lengths to ensure customer satisfaction. You can rest easy. PISCIFUN is a safe place to shop.
Line Backing for the Piscifun 3/4 Fly Rod. The Fly Rod and Line Backing both performed admirably. br>br>Several large Blue Gills were caught using my Fly Rod and a White Popper with a Red tail. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend the Fly Rod and Line Backing to anyone. br>br>I was so pleased with it that I ordered a second one after using it; you will not be disappointed! Please see the photo below of Blue Gills caught with this product in Northern Michigan.
When I went to put this new backing on, almost the entire 100 yards was frayed and lumpy, which I had never experienced before. This was disappointing, given that it was one of the more expensive backings available. When I need to replace this, I'll save my money and purchase the less expensive backing.
There will be no issues. Fraying was a point of contention for someone. Simply touch the end to a flame to seal it, and it will no longer fray.
I'm using braided backing for the first time, and I really like how it looks on the reel. I got on- It took me no time to figure out the best way to connect to my fly line. br>I also purchased a second one for my steelhead fly rod. It's fantastic, but I have yet to catch a fish with it. I'd like to feel a run that extends beyond the length of my fly line, so I can get a feel for the braided backing. br>It was a lot of fun.
The spool claims to be 20 pounds, but it appears to be 30 pounds. Around 90 yards of backing would be ideal. Because this line has a larger diameter, it would overfill my reel and cause me to run out of line. I returned the Pacifun and replaced it with the Rio brand, which is thinner. For me, this will be more practical. Otherwise, it's a fantastic line!.
This product has been tried and tested. both ages of 20 and 30 - and have found it to be trustworthy and of high quality. I'll keep using it and recommending it to my fishing buddies.
