Although it does come with a little pouch for the reel, no, it does not come with a case.

This product has no limited warranty against defects at the factory. Although this is not the best rod for heavy usage, it is a great way to get started on fishing

Are the Encounter 8 weights designed to prevent corrosion in salt water?

This is not the case. It has been done by some people, but I would caution

Being new has given me the opportunity to give a more personal review, however, take it with a grain of salt. Being a new rod, it seems to meet all my needs. There have been times when I've caught a large steelhead (28") without ever fearing that it would snap the rod. I like the fact that it is light enough to fish for hours. It seems like a really great value, but I have never tried another.

The rod is great and the reel is durable, so I know these will last Steelhead fishing is made easy with this outfit, which is lightweight and handles well.

This line is a WF floating line and it appears to be okay, but I discarded the leader and bought new equipment. This is a good unit for a beginner- I have a lot of money saved up and I believe I can make it last for a few months.

My order arrived quickly, but I found it for $20 less at a fishing store, which surprised me. However, it was still cheaper because it was convenient, not having to drive 30 miles, and that I didn't have to drive 30 minutes.
