br>I also hope the fish like it, because it's permanently at the bottom of the lake, thanks to the factory's worthless knot, which came untied an hour after the first use.
I spend more time untangling the rope than I do fishing because the rope gets knotted easily. When it's windy, I still use it. The other issue is that the design, with all of the pedal-like points, tends to get caught between rocks, making retrieval difficult. I've had to paddle all the way around the anchor and pull it loose, which can take up to an hour. For the lakes and rivers where I kayak, I think I'll get a mushroom-shaped anchor. This method is no longer effective for me. I bought two of them.
16 knots of wind I have the perception rambler 13, and the anchor sets up quickly and has a great hold for its size. There are five three-seaters. I put it to the test in salt water with two people and then by myself (260 pounds). There were a few times when the current became too strong and I had to slow down, but given the circumstances, I was surprised that I wasn't gliding away at full speed. I highly recommend investing in a kayak anchor hoist for the front; it has made my life much easier. From Florida, have fun kayaking!.
This anchor is smaller and lighter than the weights I use for diving, and it comes in a bag that can be stored in the kayak. The anchor is small enough that it can be picked up and dragged by the kayak while it is submerged.
On a recent super windy Saturday, I had the pleasure of using this anchor to keep my kayak from blowing all over the lake. The rope's length of 40 feet is ideal for me. I've seen a lot of products like this that are only 25 feet long. I like the bag that comes with it because it is simple to use. I would buy this again if it lasted a long time.
For my kayak, this was not what I required. Float is a teeny-tiny piece of equipment. You can make this for half the price if you return it for a better one at the same price.
My paddle board was not properly secured. With a little wind, I was anchored in sand. Slowed the drift, but not sufficiently to meet my requirements. On rock and coral, you might have a better chance.
The items received are identical to what is shown in the photos.
- Anchor is a good product (it's similar to others on the market and comes with a nice bag).
- The line is of adequate quality (it comes with a carabiner and is suitable for a kayak).
- Leashes are a nice addition (they'll be useful for securing tools). br>br>Overall, I'm pleased with the price, as similar items are available for $35 at other retailers.
