Since the boat trailer is more than 45 years old, I've had to replace bearings and hubs a couple of It is great to have Bearing Buddys, but you have to be careful to not blow out your rear seals. Essentially, these seals will solve that problem and in my opinion will work best paired with your Bearing Buddy. Make sure the rear seal is over the stainless steel ring when you seat the bearings with the castle nut and look at the rear seal to make sure it is properly seated. I wish you good luck.
My boat trailer had pitted spindles that were causing the seals to leak, so I sealed the hubs. It was every year that I changed my bearings. Initially, I thought the only solution to the problem would be changing The Spindle Seals caught my attention from the start, and I decided to give them The bearing buddies were simple to install, and, when combined with new bearing buddies, they should keep salt water out of my hubs.
To install, the bearing buddies slide back over the spindle all the way. Seals ride on a smooth new surface provided by these caps. There is no such thing as an oyster In order for water to not be able to enter behind the spindle seal, a ring between the inner bearing and the spindle seal is placed between them. For the new seal to fit over the spindle seal, it is larger than the original When checking and repacking bearings, I am not sure if the seal will be available separately. I expect you will not need to remove the hubs for annual inspections once you install bearing buddies and the spindle seal, so they should last a while. You may be able to get a bearing and seal shop to help you find an appropriate seal. I would suggest ordering another set of spindle seals to save the trouble.
Nice product -- Fits EZ-Change, but not the older type Applying lube to hubs using the provided application chart is misleading. The chart gives the number of the inner wheel bearing and the diameter of the OD seal. You will not be able to use this with EZ-Connect There is nothing wrong with the product and there are no problems with the selection chart. The seal on lube hubs has a larger ID than the bearing, although the bearing number is correctly selected.
It does a great job of.
I think this is a great idea, as it should make rear seals last longer.
It provides a stainless steel surface that can be used on The seals are made with stainless steel they are great products. Boat trailers used in saltwater are particularly suited to this product. The spindle seal surface this time had been chewed up due to the blown bearing, and a simple fix was the best solution. This shoe slips easily on and off. It does not require any modifications to the hub or the bearings.
It worked fine and was a good replacement for the OEM ones.
This is fantastic.
